9 Gallons! Seriously? That's crazy. One of the things Ramsey Solutions does every year is put together a company-wide blood drive for the Red Cross. I give regularly through a local Red Cross office on my way home. But, I will usually try to time donations so I can participate with the company. I just got a note from the Red Cross that my recent donation pushed me to the 9 gallon mark of donations. Wow! To put that in context: The normal human body has anywhere from 1.2-1.5 gallons of blood. I've effectively emptied myself 7 times. Ha! Giving blood is life-saving for others. It's also good for your body. It helps generate the production of new, fresh blood cells. I always say I give for the snacks. However, since I've had to go gluten-free the past couple of years, the snack choices are a bit limited. In reality, I give because I want to help others. That, and the fact that I'm O- and CMV- which means I'm in high demand with great blood to give to babies in need.

The human spirit is a remarkable thing. For patients, it is the courage and tenacity to trudge through the unknown. For donors, it is an unwavering commitment to hope that guides each step. For physicians and researchers, it is their life-long dedication to patients that move them to find answers. Make a difference for patients today and tomorrow by donating: https://bit.ly/3XMooJr.

We’re out & about today, speaking with Roadchef colleagues up and down the UK about the importance of learning CPR. There are more than 30,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests each year in the UK, and they can happen anywhere, at any time. Shockingly, the survival rate is less than 1 in 10 – but early CPR and defibrillation can more than double the chances of survival. We’re asking Roadchef colleagues to vote for BHF to be their next charity partner! In partnership, we will help save lives today, by training Roadchef colleagues in CPR and turning service stations into lifesaving hubs. And together, we’ll help save lives tomorrow by funding the next groundbreaking scientific breakthroughs, helping to keep families together for longer. Roadchef, your vote can help save lives.
