Now this is the sweet spot I like... Forever women have been wearing an extra layer of innerwear to protect against chafing. Such a simple problem. Such a simple solution. Boxer briefs for women. Called Woxer In 3 lengths. Where were you all this while? Now, if only you can get that kind of a response for your product/brand and its #positioning. And if you need help with that... I'm here and on jay@notahamster.com #BrandStrategy #BrandPositioning

When did a pair of shoes stir such a conversation? Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx, is at it again. 🔥 When she announced her new shoe brand Sneex yesterday, the Internet had mixed reactions. Some people loved the idea. Others thought the shoes were ugly. But here's the thing... No matter what you think about the shoes, there's an important lesson here about creating inclusive products (for women). Sara Blakely didn't just create a shoe. She created a solution. Spanx was born out of her own frustration with existing products. Now, Sneex aims to solve a different problem in a similar fashion. Comfortable, stylish (?) shoes for busy women. Innovation isn't just about technology. It's about finding new ways to meet existing needs. Blakely's journey from Spanx to Sneex shows that you can always find new ways to serve your audience. Launching a new product is always a risk. Especially when it's something that’s used on a daily basis such as shoes. But taking that risk can lead to great rewards. Sara Blakely's track record shows that bold moves pay off. Her mission has always been about advocating for women through product. Sneex is an extension of that mission. Even if the reaction is mixed, staying true to your vision will attract your ideal customers. Remember, the aim is to create products that solve real problems. For real people. What are your thoughts on Sneex? #femaleeconomy #sarablakely #sneex #womensupportingwomen

The changing attitude toward the largely controversial corset has helped lead to a trend among young women. We are seeing a rise in the interest and sales of corset tops. It's always fascinating how cultural trends lead to a shift in demand caused by the rise in popularity of the corset. I love seeing how the fashion industry touches many parts of the world. In my microeconomics class, we learn about the law of supply and demand. The demand in the fashion industry changes frequently as trends change. #meredithecomonics

You don’t need to know everything to get your creative business off the ground. But you do need passion and the belief that your business will succeed. Formerly a door-to-door fax machine salesperson, Sara Blakely had never worked in fashion or retail – or even taken a business class – before she founded her shapewear company, Spanx, at the age of 27. Blakely hit on the idea of seamless underwear after cutting the feet off her pantyhose to avoid panty lines showing through her outfit. She didn’t know how getting products into stores worked, but she had something in her favour – she was great at sales. After getting a buyer from Neiman Marcus on the phone, Blakely told them that she’d invented a product that would change the way women wore clothes – and if she could have ten minutes of their time, she’d jump on a plane and show them. Armed with her lucky red backpack, that’s just what she did. Fast forward to 2024, and Sara Blakely is no. 24 on America’s most successful self-made women entrepreneurs with a net worth of $1.3 billion. If you have an idea for a creative business, don’t let the fear of what you don’t know hold you back. It could be your greatest strength. #motivation #creativeentrepreneurs #creativebusiness #founderstories #inspirationalquote #sarablakely #creativebusinesstips #creativeindustries

I was disappointed to learn that only 14% of founders in the fashion industry are women. As the founder of Paarsh Atelier, an ethnic menswear brand, I wish to see more women in this space. To anyone starting a career in fashion, here is what I have to say from my experience: (no-nonsense, no ChatGpt stories!) 1/ Profit is the New Black It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of starting a new business, but always keep an eye on your bottom line. Focus on remaining profitable. Avoid taking on debt unless it's absolutely necessary. Think of your business as a plant: it needs careful nurturing to grow strong and healthy. 2/ Government can be a Goldmine! The government offers many subsidies and opportunities for new businesses. Make sure you research and take advantage of these resources. They can give you the financial boost you need to get started without relying on debt. 3/ Equality is Always in Fashion At Paarsh Atelier, we treat everyone equally, whether they are men or women. It’s not about how the world sees you but how you see your business. By fostering a culture of equality, you create a stronger, more cohesive team. As I always say, "Talent has no gender." Remember, your entrepreneurial journey is unique. Embrace your strengths, learn from your experiences, and stay committed to your vision. #paarsh #menswear #founder #fashion
