What can nature teach us about the best way to build obstacle detection systems for autonomous platforms? Well, put simply, combining multiple complimentary senses makes it easier to detect the huge range of potential dangers that lurk in the wild! We partnered with Small Robot Co to create a sensor fusion system that helps their robots navigate challenging environments whilst reducing reliance on human monitoring. The technology our team developed combines cameras and radar with classical algorithms to reliably detect obstacles, even under tough conditions.
