Genuinely cannot believe it has been 5 years since I started at The Distance! I know a common question is where do you see yourself in 5 years time? I think it is impossible to answer that question, because so much changes within 1 year, let alone 5! At The Distance, I have worked as a Project Manager, Account Manager and now Head of Partner Success. I have learnt a huge amount from everyone I have worked with, but particular shout-outs to: Anthony Main - some of what he says about stays lodged in my brain, and I find myself regurgitating knowledge, passing it off as my own of course! Louise Toal - The Distance - Listening to what I think are genius thoughts and then actually advising a better approach... Gemma Oliver - Creating the structure that makes the sales-to-project life so much easier and always someone I can bounce off. James Paton - Always asks a great question and has a different way of thinking, which again, I have shamelessly stolen to pass off as my own Plus of course, everyone else I have worked with whilst at The Distance, too many to mention, but I have learnt something from all of you! Finally, within the last year or so I have had the opportunity to work with Fiona Chorlton-Voong and Ryan Hall learning about Marketing and Sales outreach, which has been invaluable. I have really appreciated them answering my questions and keeping things simple! Here is to the next 5 years!
📱 Happy 1 year and 5 year work anniversary to two of our amazing team, Kate Lewis and Thomas Boatman. Thank you for being such a great part of our journey, here's to the future! #GreatTeam #WorkAnniversary

We all need a partner to be successful
Vice President, Partner Insurance Office of America | Government Contracting | Defense Base Act Expert | CONUS & OCONUS Programs | Bid & Proposal Insurance Rates | Former US Army Officer | Picks up the phone!
This week marks the two year work anniversary with Laura Crawford. Without the partnership we have developed over the past 24 months, our successes certainly would have been far fewer. I consider Laura to be my partner. We have successfully overcome many ups and downs, but far more ups. She continues to push forward many issues that keeps us on track in more ways than one. Thank you for putting up with my antics and making me a better professional everyday. You are the best.

𝐌𝐲 𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐳! Today is my 5th work anniversary at Hertz. It’s a perfect moment to look back and sum up all wins and losses, moments of horror, and achieved milestones. When I started at Hertz, I quickly realised that Car Rental company is a very complex business. It has many complex organisational structures, complex processes and communication is tough. Then there were other challenges I faced. There were no structure to our working environment, we had complex processes, complex Excel templates and complex IT systems. Then COVID happened and changed everything. We now live in interesting times. When I talk to my parents, five years of single-company experience isn’t that much for them, they aren’t impressed at all. But at Hertz, it has been like being on a roller coaster. I like to keep things simple. I talk less, I let my work do the talking, I show up and I surround myself with solid, honest, good-charactered people - My Fleet Planning Tribe. Over the past few years, I have used my previous experiences to find efficiencies in the way we work, How? I have simplified everything! I have made a much better working structure for our daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc work. I have simplified process that took 8 hours to now 1 hour. I have simplified Excel templates that took 2 hours to now 10 mins, etc. My philosophy is that everything can be simplified, you just need to understand the art of simplification! You can then focus on important things. I am now proud of what we have! 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝟓 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐳: ◾ I faced challenges at start with unstructured working environment, complex process, complex IT Systems, etc. ◾ COVID came and changed everything. We were on Chapter 11 but bounced back strong. ◾ We lost people and we all had to take on more work, so I had to simplify everything. Work smarter not harder! ◾ We had chip shortage, which lead to vehicle shortages, which lead to crazy prices. ◾ We had Ukraine conflict which made things worse with high energy prices, high inflation and lack of vehicle availability. ◾ We are currently facing challenges with electric vehicles. Lots of challenges! ◾ We had many changes within our senior leadership in the past 5 years than in my previous company that I was with for 15 years. This means we had to adapt frequently. ◾ Every day is a different day. ◾ 5 years at Hertz feels like 20 years! No matter what, I can say that I went through so many experiences so fast, which also means I had to evaluate and improvise fast, adapt and keep up. If that is not working Agile, then I don’t know what is. To conclude, I am super happy to be celebrating this milestone and I am now ready to take on the next 5 years, and I’m optimistic about all of the opportunities ahead. Thank you for reading this post and celebrating with me. Lots of love. #Hertz #Work #WorkAnniversary #Anniversary #COVID #NeverGiveUp

As this year winds down and I celebrate my work anniversary at SFPA, I find myself reflecting on a leap of faith I took a year ago. After spending 10 years at my previous job, making a career change felt monumental. I had been in my comfort zone for years, and while comfort is nice, I knew it was time to challenge myself. Still, I was afraid of change. I questioned if I could succeed somewhere new. Could I find a role that not only allowed me to grow but also honored the things I value most—time with my family, time with my son, flexibility, balance, good benefits, and good pay? I wanted to continue learning, growing, and contributing meaningfully without compromising those priorities. Feeling a sense of purpose in what I do is so important to me—whether it’s supporting my team or helping clients. That purpose drives me and keeps me striving for more. Looking back, I’m so glad I took the leap. It wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t always comfortable, but it was worth it. Over the past year, I’ve challenged myself, learned something new every day, developed new skills, and found my groove. I didn’t lose the things I was afraid of compromising—in fact, I’ve gained even more. Growth is a process, and this year has been a reminder of the importance of believing in yourself and pushing forward. I never want to stop challenging myself or settle into complacency. Here’s to continued growth, new challenges, and what’s ahead!

I'd like to thank everyone who's reached out with the good ole' 'work anniversary congratulations'! One facet of LinkedIn I've always enjoyed when it comes to watching friends and industry peers advance through their careers. For me, it's always a time to do a little reflection. So yes, I just hit the 3 year mark with Hawx, so thought I'd share a little about the last 3 years. 🔊 Immense gratitude for Matthew Mehr Scott Wilson and Jonathan Gleave for inviting me on this rocket ship of a ride and entrusting in me to bring value to Hawx and creating a role that empowers me to experience the multiple facets of operations, sales and everything in between! 🔊 The value of our people. It goes without saying that an organization is only as good as the people you have in the "trenches". Everyday it's a pleasure working along side amazing people who bring fresh perspectives, new ideas and who are willing to challenge the status quo. 🔊 D2D! I know there's a lot of opinions on D2D, what I can attest is that it works. Put the right people in place, supported by strong leadership in the field, with a focus on doing what's right, taking care of the customer, taking care of employees and embracing the dynamics it brings. Amazing things can happen! 🔊 The power of technology & data. An aspect of coming to Hawx I was excited about, was exploring how to do some things different. It's been so rewarding to lean into technology and data to see/watch how data can simply drive better decision making and also elevate the employee and customer experience. Embrace it! 🔊 And last, I love our annual "themes"...it brings our teams together and keeps things "fresh"! 2022: Prove Them Wrong ✅ 2023: Level Up ✅ 2024: Become ✅ - setting the tone, establishing the culture and making it happen! Amazing company, colleagues and industry. Let's keep it rolling!
