One of the challenges we faced while starting our client "Francis Bacon", the artist's Instagram was that we were up against the many pre-existing fan accounts that had been sharing his work for years. With the Estate preferring not to shut them down, instead we used the exclusive content and knowledge of the Estate to leverage the official account's position, build a following and position within the art community. We have now built his account to 135K and have a very active following of artists / art enthusiasts who enjoy learning more about the artist, his life and his work. #Socialmedia #BusinessGrowth #Socialmediagrowth #Socialmediamarketing #Digitalmarketing

New Post: Building a History: What Artists Can Learn From Dylan and Denver on Creating Lasting Value for Their Work - https://lnkd.in/gcaPDeHM - The video for Machine Gun Kelly and Jelly Roll‘s collaboration, “Lonely Road,” (No. 18, Hot Country Songs) casts MGK as a finance-strapped, blue-collar worker who commits an armed bank robbery, gets run down in a police chase and ends up seeing his newborn daughter for the first time from behind a wall of glass in prison. The criminal storyline plays out over a melody long associated with a comforting, nostalgic John Denver hit, “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” with which “Lonely Road” is interpolated. Matching an edgy, violent plot line with the legacy of a goody-two-shoes pop-and-country environmentalist imprints a scruffy wrinkle atop Denver’s safe reputation while bringing some revenue into his estate’s coffers. “It’s just this way to reinvigorate a song and remind people, ‘Oh, right, I love that song, “Country Roads,”‘ while they’re also having this great time at an MGK show,” 7S Management artist manager Amy Abrams noted on Sept. 18 while moderating the panel “Curating a Legacy — What Young Artists Can Learn From Estate Management” during the Americana Fest in Nashville. The reimagination of “Country Roads” provides Denver’s catalog “a way into a new audience, to associate yourself with another artist that may complement the image or the legacy that you’re working to create.” Related Hotter Than Hell: The Devil Makes a Fiery Comeback In Country Music 09/06/2024 Setting up a career for long-term health is, not surprisingly, similar to setting up personal finances for retirement. To do so successfully requires focusing on the future, protecting assets from opportunistic sharks, reflecting personal values in decision-making, saving documents and taking informed risks when it makes sense. It also helps to develop a sense of self-worth. In personal finance, that means seeing oneself as someone who deserves to have a nest egg. In building a music career, that means self-identifying as a creator whose work has lasting value. That attitude might be difficult to develop during artists’ early years when bank accounts are slim and the desire to advance is powerful. But Bob Dylan Center director Steve Jenkins noted that Dylan‘s latter-career reputation is, in part, an outgrowth of the importance he assigned to his copyrights and to his brand from his earliest years in the spotlight. “He avoided some of the potholes that a lot of younger artists find themselves having to get into,” Jenkins said. “I think it’s about valuing your

🎧 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱'𝘀 "𝗗𝗡𝗔"? 𝗟𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴! 🎧 As millions of Hip Hop lovers around the world, I’ve had Kendrick’s new album GNX on repeat the last couple of weeks. He has an incredible talent for weaving storytelling into every track, which got me thinking—if my brand were a song, what would it be? To stay on "Brand", I’m going with "DNA." from the album "HUMBLE." It’s all about staying grounded and true to yourself, which is exactly what I help my clients do with their brands. For those who haven’t heard it, "DNA." is Kendrick’s anthem about identity and resilience. He reflects on how his upbringing and heritage have shaped him, celebrating both the strength and struggles that define who he is. It’s a powerful expression of self-pride and empowerment—everything I help my clients find in their brand stories. What about you? What song represents your brand best? 🙌🔥 #Branding #Storytelling #HipHopVibes #Authenticity #KendrickLamar #BusinessStrategy #Marketing

My friend’s daughter performed in a musical over the weekend. It was her first such performance, and the pressure ratcheted up because she was cast as the lead. It was a big deal for his family, with much to celebrate. He told me about the bouquet of flowers his family was excited to give her after the performance. He went with a mixed bouquet of spring blooms, overflowing with color and intermixed with different shapes and scents. Roses, while nice, he said, are typical for the occasion, and this was anything but. I can see how “typical” the way some businesses choose to market their products and services. They check the box for a list of tactics and call the job done. What would happen if you decided to move from typical to unique? What if, instead of checking a box, you doubled down on an aspect of your marketing strategy to stand apart? How might that decision to be atypical effectively position your business in a crowded, competitive landscape? #marketing #marketingstrategy

5 reasons Venmo x Tierra Whack Money Talks Series deserves more hype. 1. It’s an authentic creative concept. Tierra Whack enters the spaces of fellow creative entrepreneurs around Philly (where she’s from). Venmo could have shot this in a basic studio but instead they went into the creatives’ space which helps the audience feel more connected to what we’re watching. 2. It’s Tiera Whack! She’s an amazing, trailblazer that has forged her own creative entrepreneurial path - she is the perfect host for this series. 3. Empowering creatives to be financially literate. Often times people stereotype that creatives can’t be the business but creatives ARE the business people too and demystifying talking about money and learning how to manage your money is key. 4. Perfect EDUTAINMENT content. The content touches on topics that are usually boring in an engaging, colorful, and impactful way. 5. Uplifting Black creatives. Still way too many brands only working with Black creatives surrounding Black History Month. Black creatives are the heart and soul of culture and should be celebrated every single day of the year. Venmo I love this series 👏 Check it out on Venmo’s TikTok Channel:

🎉 In the grand circus of American politics, Rep. Eli Crane has once again dazzled the crowd, defending his House seat with the grace of a trapeze artist refusing to fall. As Crane swings safely back onto the GOP platform, the Democratic challenger Jonathan Nez remains earthbound, still trying to untangle his nets. 🤹♂️ The Associated Press, acting as the ringmaster, has called the election with 90% of the vote counted. Crane leads with 54.2%, like a precise juggler maintaining just enough momentum to keep all balls in the air. Meanwhile, Nez's tally of 45.8% sits just shy of the spotlight’s edge. 🎪 The show seems endless as the political terrain transforms with every vote counted – the acrobatics revealing both suspense and crowd frenzy. Strip away the glitz, though, and we find a tightly wound community, as tense as circus strings yearning to snap. But what's the prediction for this tightrope act? Let's forecast a blustery performance full of high-flying rhetoric and dizzying spins, precariously staged amidst a hungry opposition. Best to keep those nets handy! 🌪️ - The thrill? Seeing how this dance shapes the House majority, inching ever closer to a GOP stronghold. - The fear? Staring down another spell of partisan tug-of-war while onlookers grow weary. - The wonder? Adventuring forward, wondering what new stunts our political players might launch midair. So, are we witnessing the daredevil dynamism of democratic process or just another frantic chapter of slapstick showmanship? Alas, the metaphorical curtains whisper temptations of unending productions. All bets are off until the final curtain call, folks! For as Crane lands his latest leap, the audience knows this isn't the final act. Tea leaves and crystal balls, beach sand and boardwalk games – perhaps they're all equally equipped to hint the trajectory ahead. 🌠 - Raucous House dynamics? Predictable. - Comedy-drama outlook? Guaranteed. - Entertainment value? Assuredly rife with surprises. #PoliticalCircus #Election2023 #HouseMajority #GOPVictory #SwingWhileYouCan #TightropeDancerPolitics https://lnkd.in/emdgfXDV

The power of personal branding and the ‘Bowie Bond’. In 1997, David Bowie floated a $55m, 10 year bond that paid a 7.5% interest rate on the principal. The payments were linked to previous album royalties. It was hugely successful for all parties involved and was the first time a public figure monetised their name and likeness in a financial instrument. It shows the weight of personal ‘goodwill’ in financial transactions and the value having a truly recognisable brand when building enterprise value. We see variations of this everywhere today with Richard Branson’s Virgin, Kim Kardashian’s Skims, Ryan Reynolds’ Aviation. Companies whose enterprise values are considerably higher than the fundamentals alone, they are levered by personal brand and goodwill. Most recently, we’ve seen it with Donald Trump’s listing trading at 2000x revenue last week. It will be interesting to see how this evolves once more and more of these ‘celebrity’ companies go public. How will the market accurately price the value of a recognisable personal brand vs business fundamentals? P.S. this clip also doubles down as a great, simple explanation on how bonds work. If you care about the performing arts and artists—and want both to thrive—we collectively have to do more to encourage, justify and reward corporate support of the arts. 1. Let businesses know that you value their current support of the arts whether writing a letter, telling a manager/owner, commenting on social media, and, of course, spending money with them. 2. Encourage the businesses you interact with in your day-to-day life to consider supporting your favourite performing arts organizations. Whether it’s your dentist, florist, bank, etc.—support can come in all sizes. 3. For arts organizations and artists, though we always hope support will come through due to a genuine love for the arts, we need to get real about why a business would offer support. This means creating sponsorships pathways that offer value-for-money and create genuine win-wins for all. A logo slapped in a program or a website is not going to be enough anymore. At a time when corporate support, as well as private support, are rapidly declining—we need to be creative, flexible and bold. #supportthearts #corporatesponsorship #performingarts #getcreative #valueformoney
