#ThisWeekInSaaS we’re covering Dreamforce Daddy Salesforce acquiring Own Company. And I'll be honest, I was being a little 🐱sourpuss🐱 on this video - mostly because I had to miss out on Dreamforce to go to Inbound. Next year can we pretty please not book them on the same week? I'm hot on that conspiracy 🚞train🚞 - and can’t help but think that HubSpot & Salesforce want it this way. That strategically, having the conferences in the same week keeps their customers from attending their competitor’s biggest event. Do I need to take my tin hat off? So, I got a little sassy (saasy?) about innovation slowdowns and acquisition strategies. From all the announcements, I can see development was spent on AI features & agents. OwnCompany is an interesting acquisition (1.9 billies) - it is definitely in line with Salesforce’s commitment to data protection, but I do find it curious since they have built versions of OwnBackup’s solution before. I know OnwBackup has been the standard in backups and I am still shocked about how many companies (even large mid market+) do not back up their instance or have deployment solution. And while I'm on this topic, I want to give Gearset an honorable mention, as we are big fans of the product. For those that went to Dreamforce, what was the news that stayed with you? Was the innovation you saw something you'll bring back to your companies?

What an incredible few weeks… and there is more to come! First up, we had Dreamforce, Salesforce biggest event of the year. As the #1 AI CRM it’s no surprise we had some phenomenal announcements - check out the key note to hear from Marc on ‘what AI was meant to be’ and watch Patrick’s amazing demo, transforming the customer service experience. The introduction of Agentforce - where humans with agents drive customer success together. This isn’t yet another AI model, no this is about adding incredible new function right in that trusted and secure platform you already know and love. Helping you to build powerful, autonomous agents for the front office. After a whirl wind week, many customer meetings, exciting keynotes and tons of fantastic energy. It was back to the UK. On Wednesday evening I had the pleasure of attending what was described as a ‘world first!’ - Cure Leukaemia launched their new paediatric UK trails network. This will change the way we treat children who have this horrendous disease. Inspiring to hear from Charlie Craddock and so many who have been impacted by blood cancer. As someone who is always interested in the data, it’s shocking to think that every 14 minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with blood cancer. We can do more and with the advancements in medicine and technology we can help tackle this problem. Now on to the next couple of weeks - not forgetting Agentforce World Tour London which will be taking place on the 8th October. I look forward to seeing so many of customers, colleagues and friends and helping them get hands on to build Agents which can drive higher productivity, agument employees with skills, help build stronger customer relationships and drive margin improvement for higher revenue.
