IIT Kharagpur - Vinod Gupta School of Management proudly conducted the inaugural phase of the Management Development Programme (MDP) for Sabhadhipatis and Karmadhyakshas of Zilla Parishads and Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad in collaboration with the Panchayats & Rural Development Department, Government of West Bengal. The program was graced by keynote addresses from Shri Pradip Kumar Mazumdar, Hon’ble Minister in Charge, and Shri Prasenjit Hans, IAS, Special Secretary. Both dignitaries emphasized the importance of teamwork, discipline, and knowledge-sharing in addressing grassroots challenges and driving effective governance. His unwavering dedication, sharp vision, and remarkable ability to lead from the front have always been an inspiration—not just for his party (Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP)) but for every individual striving for impactful leadership. I was fortunate to experience his leadership up close during the #IIMUN event in #Mumbai on 6th September 2019 at #NSCI Stadium. Sharing a seat next to him, I couldn’t help but marvel at being in the same line of thought and the same line of sofa (ha ha!) with a leader of such caliber. His clarity of purpose, humility, and resilience were palpable. From a parenting perspective, leaders like Fadnavis Ji remind us of the values we need to instill in our children: Resilience: Like a strong parent, his ability to bounce back from challenges is admirable. Teach your children to rise after every fall. Vision: A good leader, like a good parent, plans for the long-term well-being of their people or family. Humility: Despite his success, he remains grounded—a vital trait every parent can model for their children. As a parenting coach, I often say that parenting is not about control but about empowerment. Similarly, great leaders like Shri Fadnavis Ji empower their people to dream bigger and achieve more. Hey connector, successfully completed 2 Day workshop of capacity building at "KGVK" Ranchi. I am thrilled to share my 2 day experience of capacity building workshop on April 23 and 24 . the objective of workshop is fullfillng the gap the workshop was started full of energy through Chetna and Baal Geet, enlightening activities . We began by setting expectations and understanding everyone's roles and responsibilities. We discussed four major initiatives by Piramal: Tribal Health Collaborative, Digital Bhart Collaborative, Aspirational Bharat Collaborative, and Piramal School of Leadership. We also talked about the difference between Aspirational Bharat Collaborative and Aspirational District collaboration approach. The workshop focused on hyperlocal NGO collaboration and last-mile convergence, emphasizing locally driven solutions. We explored the distinctions between collaboration and convergence, with case studies to illustrate. As fellows, we discussed common problems faced during fieldwork in panchayats, highlighting the challenges related to money, mandate, and manpower (the 3Ms). Here's a simple description of GPEC, GPCC, and GPFT: 1. Gram Panchayat Empowerment Committee (GPEC): A group that helps empower local communities by involving them in decision-making for sustainable development. 2. Gram Panchayat Coordination Committee (GPCC): A committee that fosters coordination among different stakeholders at the panchayat level to ensure smooth implementation of development projects. 3. Gram Panchayat Facilitation Team (GPFT): A team that supports panchayats by building their capacity, mobilizing resources, and promoting effective governance, thereby nurturing local leadership and innovation. 🌱what I took away from from this workshop: •Increase my knowledge of ADC receiver of service and ABC co-creator approaches. •Gained more knowledge about the collaboration and converence. •making understanding work of doers and enablers. #Asar organised the second state-level meeting as part of its Co-creation Conclave series on #justtransition across Jharkhand in Ranchi on 1st October 2024. 30 participants from 23 civil society and community-based organisations across the state came together to ideate on actionable steps for the thematic areas that were identified during the first conclave held in May. What stood out the most wasn’t just the discussions, but the ownership that emerged. Organisations volunteered to lead and host the next three meetings—showing that this isn’t just a conversation but an initiative that’s gaining momentum! We’re now in the process of refining all the incredible ideas into a strategic roadmap for the next few months. The collective commitment was monthly virtual meet-ups and quarterly physical gatherings to ensure we keep pushing the agenda forward. Highlights of the day: ▶️⁠ ⁠The spirit of collaboration shown through multiple organisations stepping up to take leadership roles. ▶️⁠ ⁠Hearing participants reference our work with Conference of Panchayats as a model for driving systemic, long-term change was truly inspiring! ▶️⁠ ⁠Establishing clear timelines and collaborative working groups will foster accountability and ensure that the momentum from the conclave leads to tangible, on-ground results.
