Thank you Brandy Clemmer for the opportunity to volunteer at Victory Junction this weekend. It was such an impactful experience to support kids learning new skills and facing new challenges. I had a great time putting smiles on other people's faces and being a family pal!

What makes a company truly great to work with? Is it just about skills and results—or could it be something more? Let me challenge your thinking: Look for a team that genuinely enjoys working together, that knows how to work hard and have fun. At Blue Compass, we believe in that balance. Every year, we break into smaller teams to compete, collaborate, and just have fun together during our Blue Circle Games—an afternoon filled with food, drinks, and activities that test our problem-solving, teamwork, and even our competitive edge. Last Friday’s event was no exception. I had the honor of inviting some friends and old colleagues to help out, and they all walked away with the same impression: our team is connected, collaborative, and truly enjoys one another’s company. It's something you can feel, whether it’s in a game or at work. Great weather, great competition, great teamwork—and most of all, great relationships. When choosing a partner or vendor, don’t overlook the value of a team that loves working together. That’s what makes a company stand out. What do you value most in a team you partner with? https://lnkd.in/gQMbDrDr

In the immortal words of Bon Jovi - “Woah, we’re halfway there…” Halfway through my secondment with Poppyscotland and what a four months it has been. Over those months, there have been many, many, many day… I’ve distilled them into one of the five different types. 1️⃣ a school day: with new areas of IG to learn about (enjoying raffles and regular giving), and reshaping my love of legacies. New techniques for DM, and different ways of working. 2️⃣ a planning day: planning my time to ensure that I can fit it all that is important, and moving aside the bits which I have absolutely ability to change or impact. 3️⃣ a reflection day: talking with those in my network about what I’ve learned, what’s gone well, what hasn’t, and what would I do differently next time… 4️⃣ a prioritising day: understanding that my priorities, really aren’t everyone else’s priorities, and that their priorities really aren’t mine too. With a little caring and sharing still gets the job done! 5️⃣ a “not today Satan” day. Enough said. I’m looking forward to a few more types of days, as I move into months 5, 6, 7 and 8 - there’s a another song on there somewhere….

However, your pet may have too much fun and forget to take cool-down breaks. 🥵 Know how to recognize the signs of heat stroke, what to do if your pet has it, and how to prevent it.
