Isn't 'Caucasian' just a politically correct way to say 'White'? Reflect for a just moment—have you ever used the term "Caucasian" instead of "White"? I was hiking with a friend a few weekends ago, and while telling a story, she used the term "Caucasian" to describe a White person. I asked if she knew that "White" and "Caucasian" didn’t actually mean the same thing. Surprised, she asked, "Wait, isn’t 'Caucasian' just the politically correct way to say 'White'?" The term “Caucasian” being used to describe a person with European ancestry comes from 18th-century racial classifications tied to eugenics. It’s a remnant of pseudoscientific ideas that divided humanity into different racial categories, falsely claiming some as inherently superior. Words matter, and understanding their origins helps us choose them more intentionally. By learning about the history of words and questioning the use, we can challenge outdated and harmful language. I am grateful to have my article, "Necessary Utopias: Black Agitation and Human Survival," finally out in the world. It argues that the utopian framework of the Black radical tradition offers a way forward out of the ecological-political crises of our era and towards a more equal and just society. While it is crucial that we are critical of the consequences of white supremacy, it is equally important that we understand (and advance) the liberatory vision of previous generations of egalitarian thinkers. https://lnkd.in/ewHA5xKX

Exactly! There was no "good old days"! It is all a fantasy in your mind! The horrors of the past must be remembered so we NEVER return to them. It is good to see some young people understanding the gravity of the situation. I have heard your opinion. Protect your voice / feelings and hone them over time with truthful data garnered from historical documents. You may have SOME idea and it may not be perfect, but at least you have understood the bizarre breadth / depth of the issues! Do not act until you have deep insight into what you have learned otherwise in such a complex system it may have an OPPOSITE effect. https://lnkd.in/gcTrB_ib
