When conceptualizing, always have a concept wall. Put all your ideas up, and leave them there… rough scamps, rough lines, half-baked thoughts, good ideas… even bad ones. Surround yourself in them. Stare at them. I do it with my bowls too. I have shelves and shelves of new bowls, good bowls, old bowls, cracked bowls, quarter bowls, bowl blanks, half bowls, pieces of bowls, bowl wannabees, bowl bits... staring down at me every day. They live inside your brain bouncing around from compartment to compartment. A while back, the recycler in me was desperate to make a bowl from pallets. I purchased some and lay one particular piece on top of one of the scrap bowls, without even thinking. A few days later, I glanced up at my wonky-wood-wall-of-inspiration – from the angle I was standing, that piece of wood looked like it was the actual rim of a bowl. Hope this helps you. #creativity #conceptualizing #conceptualising #concepts
Apparently for some, bowel movements, are better than bowls.
Love this
Cogito ergo. Sumthing useful may come of it.
2moI was thinking about concept walls last night too, oddly enough. I wonder: open plan office = fewer walls = bad advertising?
