Up to 60% are going for a second EV in the household? Pete Bigelow, Great article! However, I noticed a potential contradiction between the article headlines and the main text. Is this your interpretation, or is it based on Philipp Kampshoff's report? The headline states: "Almost 40% of U.S. EV buyers want to go back to combustion engine cars, McKinsey study says. More than a quarter of EV owners are likely to return to combustion engine vehicles for their next purchase, according to a McKinsey & Co. survey." However, the text says: "Nearly 4 in 10 owners of electric vehicles in the U.S. are likely to buy a combustion engine car for their next purchase." This suggests that if a household replaces another car in their fleet, up to 60% might move to two EVs, while 40% may stick to one EV and one ICE vehicle in their fleet. We need more details from the survey, but it seems the headlines are not fully supported by the presented results. https://lnkd.in/dnHj_E8a

Finding an adequate, accessible, and available charging station; charging up; and paying for the service before hitting the road have all been far from a seamless experience for many drivers of EVs in the U.S. That’s about to change thanks to a just-announced initiative by the Biden administration and a private consortium of charging networks, automakers, and other infrastructure middle-players. The consortium says it will establish a universal plug-and-charge protocol to allow all EVs to just plug in and charge at all public stations in the U.S. in 2025. #evs

https://lnkd.in/eCQyQgPP A very interesting article from three automotive information sources. Taking the time to research EV's and filtering out the myths and untruths that affect the way consumers look at the EV market. It explains how many are stalling a new purchase or are simply to confused to risk the investment. This articles keeps it as simple as possible and explains a great deal about charging and the different ways of doing so, it has no agenda other than to tell the true facts about EV's. The article does not pretend to be the only place to seek advice and does suggest you use other forms of information and sources to form a rounded option about Electric Vehicles.

Want an EV but deterred by the price? Buy used! Battery health is easy to check now, and EVs have been on the road long enough that we know the batteries last longer than you are likely going to want to keep that used EV. (Okay, range decreases, but most people don't need anywhere near the range they want...). My column for Electrify News. #usedEVs #electricvehicles #ElectrifyNews #usedcars

Let's Talk About Electric Vehicles! Unless you’ve been driving down the freeways with your eyes closed, you’ve probably noticed the number of Teslas and other brands of electric vehicles (EVs) on our roads here in SoCal. As the popularity of EVs increases, so does the demand for accessible charging infrastructure. For many EV drivers, most of their charging is expected to be done at home. That's easier said than done for drivers in HOAs who usually face difficulty installing their own dedicated charger. In the next few posts I'll dive into: ⚡️ How recent announcements by the automotive industry will change the EV charging landscape ⚡️ The difficulties many EV drivers face because of lack of charging infrastructure ⚡️ How HOAs and associations can benefit from accommodating EV drivers in their communities!
