One key driver of Red Bull's success 🐂 This morning I saw the display below in my local supermarket. Over and above it being a fantastic retail display (high impact, high consistency with their brand equity... and just fun!), it reminded me of one of the key things that I've always loved about Red Bull's highly successful & innovative strategy: ➡ they give easy access to their product wherever their core consumer has the need Whilst most beverage companies defined their distribution strategy based on the classic beverage distribution channels, since the very early days Red Bull was heavily focused on where their core consumers needed 'wings' - i.e. student campuses, nightclubs, petrol stations, etc. Their iconic branded Mini cars (embodied in the retail display below) quickly became a powerful symbol of the Red Bull brand going towards their consumers, rather than expecting consumers to go to them. As well as also being a fantastic visibility driver for the brand, of course! So what? Where does your target customer need the benefit of your product or service the most? This is one of the hardest lessons to execute and can only be successful if you’re; 1) ruthless with yourself to adhere empowering others. 2) be ruthless with team selection and make sure you have the best talent around you. 3) trust your experts 4) treat your expert as you expect to be treated.

This conversation with a Store Manager moving to a different District and Region. “Here’s to the first few days in the new digs!” A couple of things… I should note, everyone does things differently, and approaches life and work and problems and people differently, and that's ok. Often the new team will use the adjective "wrong" as a qualifier for activity or behavior that was trained in one setting but not used or considered poor form in another setting. Don't take it personally. It isn’t a big deal, shake it off and move on with the new behaviors - even in a large company like ours people do things different from one District or Region to another. The right way is the way you are being trained at this moment in time. Thats a good lesson overall and one that can be applied probably 100 times in the coming months. If nothing is a big deal today then nothing can get your goat today and get you frustrated. The same is true tomorrow. What happens down the road is that together, you and your team, will determine what the new big deals are and make them the important things for yourselves all over again - with everyone in tow. That’s what is important right now, tomorrow and the next day – the opportunity to define what’s important for the future.

In another twist in the ongoing sale process of Vista Outdoor Inc., they announced today that they are going to evaluate other #strategic alternatives than selling the Kinetic Group to CSG. As it relates to Camp Chef and Revelyst this includes selling to another buyer, selling Revelyst to CSG, re-engaging with MNC Capital, or a spin-off of Revelyst. #HappeningNow ➡️ Frogger & Retailer Promotions: Leveraging the Sales Team to Optimize Marketing Efforts with Ashley Carel, MBA, Chief Marketing Officer, Missouri Lottery. Generating excitement on the sales team always ripples to retailers and players. When Missouri Lottery launched our Frogger Scratchers game in February, we worked early with the sales team to let them choose fun merchandise that they thought would give them an energy boost at retail. Sales management required five on-site promotions per sales rep and worked with their team to support the effort.
