How to Save Your Best People In a few insightful words, Hanna Larsson suggested employers should ask their people what they want - if they want to keep them. Top performers are drifting away to start their own gigs at an increasing rate. Why? They want to achieve more with their labour. Self-actualisation is ongoing in each of us. It encompasses activities that advances three values. 1️⃣ Asserting Separateness We all want our voices heard, a degree of autonomy, and opportunities to try new paths 2️⃣ Exerting Control We all want a degree of competence and influence, and the chance to accrue assets, however we define the term 3️⃣ Accruing Recognition We all want our contributions recognised. So, we show up for others, guide them, solve problems, and build bridges between individuals and communities. Employees will be trying to advance at least one of these values at any given time. Think about your key staff. 🔹 Which value means more to them right now? 🔹 Can they further it in the role they have?
