This weekend 65 riders attended our big Trash Cat Weekender event in Bristol. The 5th event of the year and the 6th since I started it this time last year. A geo-cache style checkpoint bike ride with a series of tasks to complete along the way, including clearing the trails from trash. 9 routes were available to choose from across the whole weekend, riders can pick between road and off-road options, or make their own route to pass through the checkpoints. Prize categories for biggest item, most collected, best dance move and more, made for a great alternative to the regular club ride. On Saturday we collected an outrageous 1,978 items! The most that has been collected by a Trash Cat event. As brilliant as this number is, it's truly shocking that this much trash exists in this small stretch we covered over a few hours. A big thank you to the brands who support the series. For not only the financial support, but believing in this alternative event, providing continued support to me personally and backing it to happen. Special mention to Trash Free Trails for your presence on the day along with the ongoing support. It is amazing to be able to share the amazing work that you do. komoot Laka Restrap Kickback Coffee I’m excited to continue working with the fantastic brands we’re currently partnering with, and I’m also open to exploring new collaborations. I’ll be putting together the sponsorship partnership deck soon, so if you’re interested in getting involved, please don’t hesitate to reach out! To ensure Trash Cat can thrive and continue its success, I’m looking to build a small team to help relieve some of the pressure. I love what has been created, but balancing this with my design work, personal life, and cycling goals can be a challenge. I haven’t fully defined the structure of the team yet, but if you’re passionate about clearing trails, skilled in marketing or sales, and love the outdoors, I’d love to hear from you! A final note to the pure joy it is to bring people together in this way. If we group together, great things can be achieved and I hope this is relayed across all aspects of our lives.
