Gràcies to Leaders in Logistics for the perfectly organized #LiLSummit24 in World Trade Centre in Barcelona. Always a pleasure to meet old friends and new faces. Aside from the overarching discussions, one of the most frequently asked questions was, "What are your thoughts on the event?" Here are several observations: - There was a noticeable surge in the presence of companies specializing in Last Mile Delivery Management compared to previous years. While only three companies, including VanOnGo, a speaking delegate last year, this year's event in Barcelona featured an array of 8-10 companies from various parts of Europe, such as Iceland, Germany, Greece, Ukraine, and Italy. - Tools for improving the #customerexperience in the #lastmiledelivery are still present in a few of the solutions, with a majority focusing on the tech side, like route optimization, which is good for us. - Established players in the market, such as VanOnGo, demonstrated a remarkable openness to #coopetition. This ethos entailed a willingness to share insights, methodologies, technological innovations, and most importantly, collaborate to disrupt the entrenched norms of traditional delivery experiences, which are often steeped in the legacy of the 20th century. As for the partnerships - it was a pleasure to meet again Mark Williams from Woolpert Digital Innovations and many other innovators from the industry.

Building on the success of the last 4 editions of Enterprise Singapore 's Trade and Connectivity Challenge, TCInnovate will bring together supply chain innovation initiatives and uncover cutting-edge supply chain technology solutions such as automation and supply chain visibility to grow and uplift our industry. 🤝 Delighted to partner with our innovation partners Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) PIER71™ , SBS Transit Ltd MINNOVA, Singapore Airlines Krislab, Starburst, IMDA PIXEL and Toll Group to create more opportunities for startups, corporates, and investors to forge powerful partnerships that will shape the future of trade and connectivity. We also had the honour of having distinguished speakers to share their thoughts on leveraging AI to future proof supply chains. Our two panels shared on how AI is significantly enhancing real-time visibility and disruption management in supply chains. Autonomous systems are also evolving to adapt infrastructure to human needs to create a more efficient and intuitive experience. These technologies presents exciting opportunities for the industry as we grapple with addressing challenges because of limited resources. We need to embrace such technologies and integrate them into traditional supply chains. We are bullish about these advancements and look forward to what the future brings with such technologies revolutionising the transport and logistics space. Effective re-use of empty container has never been more important than this year, where container imbalances between regions and continents have been at an all-time-high. The significant increase in leveraging the Avantida platform in 2024 is a testament towards the need for effective collaboration, reduction of cost and the desire to reduce unnecessary CO2 emissions. AcudocX has made it to the final round in Dublin ⭐️ Yes! I’m certainly energised and ready to make the most of this opportunity! However, I truly believe that our process innovation has the potential to transform an industry that has been overlooked by many. Certified/sworn translations have an immediate, tangible impact on the lives of millions each year, as each of these individuals is going through an incredibly important transition in their lives, whether it be immigration, health, legal, or education pursuits. The existing process for many agencies/LSPs is still highly manual and does not treat confidential personal documents with the sensitivity required. Sending a birth certificate to an LSP for translation has been likened to loading a shotgun cartridge that then gets blasted to numerous translators' emails around the world, where it will likely sit indefinitely. Some providers have lowered their operational costs by utilising back offices in other parts of the world, creating a data sovereignty issue. AcudocX automates the process in a way that respects the expertise of the translator, the independence of the agency/LSP, and the intelligence of the customer. When all are aligned and in sync, we can achieve incredible service delivery times of less than a minute for a completed certified translation—a process that currently demands an ‘express service’ surcharge for 24-hour delivery! Why does this matter? In a world where professional translators are being replaced by AI and other technologies, those of us remaining need to be highly specialised in our specific fields and process high volumes of work to earn a decent livelihood. Moreover, if these same specialists are certified/sworn as well, we have to deal directly with the public, which can take up more time than the fees we charge our customers. This has a double knock-on effect: certified translators earn less, and fewer people want to become certified translators. Certified translations are hard to process, expensive, and slow. We’ll reveal our innovation live in the Process Innovation Challenge (PIC) at LocWorld in Dublin, which is a proven solution to this dilemma.

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of being invited to Fleet Week at the beautiful St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, CA, alongside my wife. Hosted by the legendary Ron Conway and his investment firm SV Angel, it was a fantastic opportunity to network with some of the most influential angel investors and tech visionaries in the industry. The conversations centered around one thing: AI technology. It’s clear that AI is top of mind for many investors, and the potential applications in the logistics industry are particularly exciting. I had the chance to share my vision for how Cargoe.io, our all-in-one marketplace SaaS platform for logistics suppliers, will embrace AI to create a smarter, more efficient logistics ecosystem. Imagine streamlining those repetitive, time-consuming tasks – responding to RFPs, generating quotes, negotiating rates, benchmarking, and even booking loads. AI has the power to transform these processes, making them faster and more accurate. This means our team can focus on building relationships and creating value, while the AI handles the heavy lifting in the background. We’re also witnessing a shift in the logistics industry. As the current generation steps up to take over family-owned logistics businesses or moves into decision-making roles, there's a strong push to adopt and advance technology within these organizations. From the Baby Boomer era to today, the industry is evolving, and the focus on tech innovation is undeniable.
