'Chronic illness and cooking: What you see vs. what you don’t.' "It’s EDS and HSD Awareness Month Day 10 and we’re looking at the things you see vs what you can’t see when living with an invisible illness. I wanted to highlight how one very simple thing like cooking a meal can be incredibly difficult for someone with disabilities and chronic illness. I’d like people to understand the planning and energy that goes into even basic tasks. For me, there’s even more complexity to preparing meals than what I’ve included. Nothing is simple when you deal with illness and disabilities. Give people more compassion and kindness and less judgment, and if you’re able, give them a hand. It’s easy to underestimate just how much help someone may need. Do you relate to this experience? Let me know in the comments." - Hannah https://lnkd.in/eDBSTR2X #EhlersDanlosSyndrome #EDS #hypermobile #hEDS #hypermobileEDS #HSD #HypermobilitySpectrumDisorder #Zebra #ZebraStrong #Chronicillness #chronicallyill #chronicpain #Chronicfatigue #CFS #brainfog

Parents, have you noticed sudden changes in your child's personality and you're unsure of what to do next? Observe your child closely and try to understand what might be causing these changes. There must be a reason behind their behavior. Identify the problem: Look for patterns or triggers that could be influencing their actions. Talk with them: Create a safe space for open and honest conversation. Ask gentle questions and listen carefully. Show you care: Let them know you are always there to listen and support them through whatever they're facing. Help them tackle the situation: Offer guidance and help them navigate their emotions and challenges. Support them with empathy and patience: Be patient and understanding as they work through their feelings. Remember, their actions are symptoms, not the disease. With your love and support, your child can overcome whatever they're going through. 💖 #ParentingTips #UnderstandingChildren #ChildWellbeing #SupportiveParenting

You might realize that as you're getting older you're starting to ask a bunch of questions about life you hadn't considered before. As I worked with the elderly and started to get older myself I realized that there wasn't a great resource out there to answer the questions that many of us have as we age like: • Where am I going to live? • Who's going to advocate for me if I end up in the hospital? • What will happen to my pet's if something happens to me? The good news is that aging solo doesn't have to be scary! I wrote a book to answer all of these questions and more! If you would like to learn more about aging fearlessly, please read my book "Solo Wise: A Roadmap for Fearless Solo Aging." #AgingWisely #SoloWiseCoach #AgingFearlessly #HowToAge
