Last night, we gathered for our annual Tradelink National Conference, and what a night it was! We celebrated our amazing suppliers, who are the backbone of our success. The theme, ‘Better Together,’ couldn’t be more fitting as we recognize the power of teamwork. It’s a reminder that we’re all in this together, and we truly appreciate the hard work and dedication of our partners.
A huge shoutout to all our award winners - you inspire us every day! Here’s to many more years of collaboration and success!
I love helping organisations think about the everyday things they can do to improve data literacy and culture.
Looking forward to see how the team apply the learnings!

Investing in the ongoing development & engagement of our team is just one of our core values. Today, the team at Oliver Wight Asia Pacific facilitated our Majans Thinking Outside The Box Workshop, bringing our team together to collaborate, learn & engage in a positive, meaningful way.
Thank you to Rod Hozack & Olga Papageorgiou for sharing your insights & brilliance!
For those of you who have a team supporting them, how do you praise and reward their hard work? When was thr last time you showed gratitude or publicly acknowledged your superstars?
Here is a great example from our Founder of a simple but impactful way she celebrates her team. #teamworkmakesthedreamwork
We believe in celebrating the wins—both big and small—that define our journey. This year, our team not only delivered incredible events but also embraced personal and professional growth, strengthened partnerships, and leaned into our values every step of the way.
From turning ambitious ideas into impactful realities to supporting one another through challenges, 2024 reminded us why we do what we do—and how powerful collaboration can be.
In our latest blog, we’re sharing the highlights that made this year unforgettable, featuring reflections from each team member on their #1 win.

We believe that exceptional outcomes happen when we live Our Formula, and that's why we created the 'Our Formula Awards' 🏆
This initiative aims to recognize, locally and globally, employees, departments or projects that most effectively embody our five guiding principles: Ambiton, Clarity, Sense of Ownership, Agility and Staying Connected.
How will this recognition happen? We explain 👇
👉 Over the last weeks, we've challenged all the team to nominate their colleagues, departments or projects (from their site or another) and now we will award a person, department or project in each country that represents the best of each principle that shapes Our Formula.
In total, we received 188 nominations! What a huge number 🤩
A local committee assessed the nominations and has already decided who the winners will be.
There will be one winner per principle in each country and they will be revealed next Wednesday!
Then, the country winners will participate in a final round to find five global winners 🌍

GreenSquareAccord has announced receiving 254 nominations for their Gold Star Awards, describing this as an impressive 42% increase over last year’s entries. However, this claim seems somewhat underwhelming, especially considering their workforce size and the upcoming expenditure for the awards ceremony.
To put this in perspective, with an employee base ranging between 1,000 and 5,000, the 254 nominations represent only about 5.08% to 25.4% of their total staff. Last year’s nominations, calculated to be around 179, indicate a low participation rate.
Moreover, it is important to note that these nominations are solely from staff members, with no input from customers or residents. This exclusion is disheartening, particularly considering the crucial role that customers and residents play in the organisation’s operations. Their feedback and recognition would provide a more comprehensive and authentic measure of performance and service quality.
When considering the costs associated with organising and hosting an awards ceremony, including logistics, venue, awards, and lost productivity, one must question the efficiency and impact of this exercise. The expenditure seems extravagant and not necessarily reflective of broad recognition across the organisation.
Given these figures and the lack of customer/resident involvement, it's crucial to consider whether the awards genuinely enhance morale and recognition or if they simply serve as a costly tradition with limited reach. In light of these numbers, the resources allocated to the Gold Star Awards might be better invested in more impactful employee and customer engagement initiatives, or better yet spent making the homes of their residents safe, warm and dry.
We’ve received 254 nominations for our Gold Star Awards, an impressive 42% increase on last year.
Our awards are an important opportunity for us to recognise and reward the colleagues and teams who go above and beyond and enable us provide a great service to our customers.
Our final ceremony will take place on Wednesday 3 July 2024. We can’t wait to crown our winners, good luck everyone!

Why is it important for a team to celebrate your wins?
When your team celebrates your achievements, it's like adding fuel to your motivation.
This recognition makes you feel appreciated and valued, boosting your confidence and inspiring you to aim even higher.
It's a sign of a healthy team culture where each member's success is seen as a victory for the whole team, creating a positive atmosphere that encourages everyone to give their best.

We have so many award lists reserved for people 𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥 20, 30, and 40.
That's cool and all, but how about we push for some new standalone recognitions from the likes of PRWeek, Forbes, Fast Company, TechCrunch, etc., dedicated to (wait for it) people 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥 40, 50, 60?
Let's call it the "Wisdom Winners" or "Wisdom 50 over 50", you get the idea.
Major bonus points if the people selected were relative late bloomers or second actors who hit their stride well after the typical prodigies.
People like Morgan Freeman, Rose Blumkin, Bernie Marcus, Ray Kroc, Henry Ford, Martha Stewart, Toni Morrison, Lucille Ball, the list goes on and on.
The more resilience, the higher the ranking.
I would love to delve into this type of award list, would you?
Chances are, you may not have thought about Age Discrimination..? I hadn't either until recently, it seems the older I get, the more I become aware of my own unconscious biases towards getting older.
This was my first time chairing our DEI group, and I really want to drive actions from conversation, so here are my take aways...
One of the many things we discussed was how people (particularly younger people!) are less likely to recruit older people. For me, I certainly recognised this in myself when I recruited for a role in my 20s. Upon reflection, I think I felt threatened and wouldn't know how to manage/lead someone with more experience. My own insecurities could have got in the way of someone else's opportunity.
I've been doing some self-reflection, and have so far committed to the below as a starting point:
1. Stop looking at the education section of CVs to gauge how old a candidate is...age is not an indication of maturity Catherine! 🤦🏽♀️
2. If I find myself interviewing someone older than me, don't be threatened by it. Different experiences make strong teams (you should know this by now Catherine!)💪🏽
3. Be age inclusive: recruit from all age groups, create an environment for shared learning, plus identity and support issues specific to older workers 👌🏽
4. Use age inclusive language: older and younger. No need for anything else 🗣
Thank you again to everyone involved! I'm already looking forward to the next 🙌🏽

Theater Alliance was so pleased to join Booz Allen Hamilton at The Anthem for their Booz Allen Excellence Awards! The talented team of Theater Alliance artists and youth "brought the magic" to the evening of WOW led by Natalie Ade, Kari Merkel, and team.
Arts organizations get asked to perform at these kind of events all the time - and as an artistic leader, we get asked to make those decisions. For me, the question always comes down to #values. Does the organization align with our values of integrity, diversity, and excellence? Does the organization value artists? Does the organization live their values? With #BoozAllenHamilton, the answer was a resounding YES.
Even in the first conversation about the event, we didn't talk about what they needed or how to make all their dreams come true on a tiny budget. Instead, we talked about what they believe in and what we believe in - we talked about the WHY of our organizations. That is what makes a great collaboration and I'm grateful!
