Very interesting day yesterday, attending CWIEME Events (Coil Winding, Insulation, & Electrical Manufacturing Exhibition) in Berlin, meeting with several of our suppliers and assisting to few of the lectures and panel discussions. Decarbonisation is an important topic for us, so the panel discussion on how to drive the sustainability in decarbonising the transformers supply chain was availing. My takeaways from the discussion are: 1. We need clear and regulated definitions on how to assess the sustainability of different materials. 2. We need a collaboration through the full supply chain, from suppliers to customers to share the costs of decarbonisation. 3. As we dig more on the decarbonisation we discover how much we still need to learn on this topic. Today was a productive day for me in our Switchgear Factory in Berlin, meeting with two suppliers to discuss our future collaboration on cast resin parts and find further developments on new materials.

Very excited that our Senior Manager Mobility & Life Cycle Assessment, Benedetta Nucci, will be speaking at the International Automotive Recycling Congress in Antwerp on 20 June! 🗣 We want to take this opportunity to emphasise the need for the revision of the #ELV (End-of-life of Vehicles) Directive to prioritise material availability and reuse, advocating for measures such as improved vehicle design, enhanced dismantling practices, and the inclusion of minimum requirements for #aluminium scrap classification. Measures such as expanding the scope of circularity passports should be introduced and the implementation of fact-based measures for post-consumer recycled content to drive sustainable practices in the #automotive industry. 🚗 Read more about our priorities for the ELV Directive revision ➡ https://lnkd.in/dqwkaqXf Register to the Congress and find out more ➡https://lnkd.in/dcavd4ts #IARC #mobility #recycling
🌟 Excited to announce my upcoming presentation at the next International Automotive Recycling Congress in Antwerp! 🌍✨ My presentation will focus on the recycling of aluminium (of course 🙂) from end-of-life cars and I'm looking forward to the opportunity to connect with experts from across Europe to exchange insights and delve into the latest developments in automotive recycling. Huge thanks to the organizers for orchestrating this great event, and I can't wait to engage in fruitful discussions and forge new connections! See you at IARC 2024!
