🏡 Game of Homes Do you want to hear what tenants think of your complaints procedure? The Game of Homes is an accessible, fun and creative way of looking at what drives satisfaction. According to the Regulator of Social Housing’s Tenancy Satisfaction Measures (published November 2024), only 34.5% of tenants are satisfied with the sector’s approach to complaints handling. The Game of Homes is based on The Helsinki Participation Game. The Helsinki Participation Game is a board game developed by the City of Helsinki to improve collaboration between city employees and citizens in planning and improving services. Since its introduction, over 2,000 Helsinki employees across all departments have played the game in approximately 250 sessions. This widespread engagement has helped demystify the concept of citizen participation, making it more tangible and actionable for service providers. Facilitated by experienced tenant engagement experts, each Game of Homes session combines structured gameplay with a collaborative workshop approach. Through a carefully crafted journey — from imagining ideal outcomes to brainstorming bold ideas and refining them into actionable solutions—participants leave feeling heard, valued, and equipped to make a difference. USA, Brazil, Uruguay, Guinea, and even… Fiji! A few months ago we announced the #YourGamedevStory competition. The idea was to give back to the industry, give a $10k grant to one selected studio, and provide marketing support covering the APAC region. So far we received 139 total submissions out of 47 countries. In the next weeks, we will be sharing some of their stories. 💬 "The one true inspiration that gives me the strength to build games today is the satisfaction of seeing people experience genuine wonder and fun while playing what I crafted for them."
