It's a big deal - it's expensive, time consuming, intensive, and highly visible. Based on conversations with EAs and CoS, we've devised the Offsite Process Model - which highlights the planning and delivery stages, starting with outcomes, informing content and interactions, and determining logistics for an effective program. We work with EAs and CoS to determine what outcomes matter and use that to uncover what content needs to be covered and what interactions will best support content delivery. This gives EAs and CoS the frame for considering logistics - to decide on things like venue, meeting rooms, activities outside of the content portion of the agenda. Once planned, the event is primed to produce impact and desired outcomes. WHICH PROCESS SHOULD I IMPROVE? This conversation highlights the importance of attending the conference projects. A key question raised is: Where should you start with AI and automation? In my extensive blogs and articles, I emphasize not automating processes that should be eliminated. Often, unnecessary processes are just sped up with automation. Once you've removed redundant or unproductive tasks and are left with the essential core, focus on automating high-volume processes. For example, automating a single annual transaction offers little benefit, but automating 100,000 monthly transactions can be transformative. I won an award for process improvement at NatWest RBS by enhancing the payment process, demonstrating that even small changes can have significant impacts. My advice: eliminate the unnecessary, focus on volume, and if you need help, give me a call.

My flabbers were gasted. I was approached to manage revenue for a hotel—but not directly. Instead, it was positioned as a “personal service” to support someone else who’s technically in charge. In other words, I’d be setting strategy, handling pricing, making the calls… while someone else got the credit. This isn’t just about credit, though. True revenue management means getting deep into the market data, knowing the client’s vision, and tailoring strategies that build long-term success. It’s about partnership, not just being a quiet hand behind the scenes. The lines of communication are already blurred. I’m all for collaboration, but I also believe expertise deserves recognition. As I sign off for the week, I reflect on my amazing collaborative experience at the GBTA_ New Jersey chapter event that took place at the beautiful The Kenilworth Hotel New Jersey yesterday. hubli labs was designed to uncover the pain-points, discover solutions & explore innovations to keep meetings moving forward. Some really cool ideas generated will allow the continuation of a robust innovation roadmap. Then I moderated peer to peer round tables with vertical-centric topics, we challenged the buyers & then dove into topics that are trending. Thank you to the GBTA_ New Jersey Board & Committee for this engaging collaboration & idea generation to keep travel and meetings pave the path forward. It all begins with challenging the status quo & being curious. Gone are the days when we got away with saying "This is what it is" and settle. Let's learn from our peers, lets share best practices, let build connections. Lets find a way to optimize technology to grow efficiencies.
