Developing deepwater oil fields at depths of 1000 or 2000 meters involves very specific technical requirements. The equipment needs to be exceptionally robust, extremely reliable and be able to withstand corrosion in the long term. It is also set up by underwater robots, like those seen in the film Titanic. We work closely with the R&D team to develop 100%-electric technologies to extend our technical limits, going farther out to sea, and deeper. As a materials engineer, I wasn't predestined for the oil industry, let alone the underwater world, given that water is hardly my favorite element. But what I love about my job is working at the cutting edge of oil development. Happy anniversary TotalEnergies!
