I have lived in California for the 2nd time since 1980 and love California. I was born here and moved across the US in the 70’s. I really loved living in different parts of the country when I was younger. Pennsylvania was so fun to live there and I really loved my years in Palatine, Illinois. But, some of my clients are moving out of the state for several reasons and I understand why. If you know anyone considering a move please let me know how I can assist them. Here are the pros and cons. Please give me your thoughts: Here are the top 5 reasons people are leaving California: 1. High cost of living, especially housing. 50-60% more 2. High taxes (income, sales, and property). 10-15% more 3. Urban congestion and rising homelessness. 4. Wildfire risks and environmental challenges. 5. Job relocation or remote work flexibility. Here are the top 5 reasons people are staying inCalifornia: 1. Mild weather and outdoor lifestyle. 2. Career opportunities in tech, entertainment, and innovation. 3. World-class universities and education. 4. Cultural diversity and progressive values. 5. Access to beaches, mountains, and natural beauty.

Despite the cost of living, talk to a Californian about why we live here, and we'll likely call out three things: the weather, the food and the amazing culture. California's location and topography mean that much of the state, especially along the coast, experiences remarkably consistent warm weather year-round. For example, Los Angeles has sunshine an average of 263 days per year. And there are plenty of opportunities to make use of that great weather. California is home to nine national parks, including Yosemite, Sequoia and Joshua Tree. And there are many places statewide for outdoor activities, including beaches, hiking trails and more. Great food is also readily available. California's Central Valley is a major agricultural center, so fresh produce is inexpensive and high quality. What's more, California has an array of cuisines available, due in part to its strong immigrant communities. In fact, California is the second-most ethnically diverse state in the US and has the most immigrants, in both number and percentage of its overall population. If you live in California, you're likely to live and work with people from all walks of life.

🌟 California is Changing! 🌟 After 32 years on the West Coast, I’ve seen firsthand the transformations happening in California. A wise man once told me, "California does things 10 years before everyone else does, then other states copy them." Let’s hope that holds true! 🔹 Housing Boom: Median single-family home prices exceeded $900K in 2024. 🔹 Outmigration Leader: Over 10,000 residents expected to leave this year. 🔹 Big Moves to Texas: Companies like Oracle, Charles Schwab, Kelly Moore Paints and Chevron are relocating. 🔹 Job Market Shifts: Job openings down 30% and unemployment up to 5.3%. #California #RealEstate #Migration #Business #Employment #EconomicTrends

"I'm not sure about moving to California, isn't the cost of living there really high?" It's a question I am often asked when presenting opportunities for people to relocate to the West Coast, and it's a sensible one to ask. Generally, yes is the answer. Compared to "most" of the US, the cost of living in California is higher but like any state, it depends exactly where you are located and what your priority is. Schooling? Beach access? City living? Rural lifestyle? Active lifestyle? Summer and Winter sports access? Weather? Wine.....? Choosing your priorities will lead you into an enormity of options and California has it all! Dig a little deeper than random Zillow searches for "4-bed houses in LA" or "2-bed apartment in San Fran" - You'll find some more affordable areas that can offer a lot of the above, whilst compromising on other things. We have helped lots of people make successful moves to California, and with the right approach and knowledge, it can be done! Would you consider relocating to California? P.S. This photo is in California........just don't ask me where😉
