Your potential isn’t defined by where you start but by how you respond to challenges. Steven Spielberg was rejected twice by film school, but he didn’t let that stop him. He kept honing his craft, ultimately becoming one of the most influential filmmakers of all time. His journey reminds us that setbacks are often just detours to success. Believe in yourself, keep learning, and let every “no” fuel your journey forward. #Motivation #Perseverance #GrowthMindset #Inspiration #Leadership #Success

One of my favorite movies is Ron’s Gone Wrong. Early in the film, there’s a scene where Barney explains how someone can be HIS friend, but his explanation is all about what others can do for HIM. As the movie progresses, Ron (the robot) teaches Barney a valuable lesson: it’s not about what others can do for you—it’s about serving others. The same is true in business. We’re not here to make friends; we’re here to serve our customers and communities, it's possible to do both. I often see the quote, “Surround yourself with people who will say your name in a room full of opportunity.” While that’s great advice, I suggest flipping it. 😇 Be the person who says other people’s names in a room filled with opportunity. Help create opportunities for others, and you’ll be surprised by how much an attitude of giving can improve your business and your relationships. ✅ Companies that lead with a customer-first mindset are 60% more profitable than those that don’t." – Forbes #ServeOthers #BusinessRelationships #GiveToGrow #CustomerFirst #OpportunitiesForAll #BusinessGrowth #NetworkingMatters #PayItForward #Leadership #SuccessThroughService

Simple Solutions for Complex Problems In the hustle and bustle of our corporate lives, we often find ourselves caught up in overcomplicating challenges. We either pull up our metaphorical pants and wade through the issues or tiptoe around them. But what if we took a step back and thought like the young school kid in this video? Instead of navigating the water-filled lane by struggling through it, he used simple bricks to create a path for everyone. This creative yet straightforward approach is a powerful reminder that the solutions to our problems are often simpler than we think. In our industry, and in our lives, let's embrace this mindset. Innovation doesn't always mean complex; it often means seeing the simple, practical steps that can lead to significant change. Let's find those 'bricks' that help us overcome our obstacles with ease and efficiency. #TREVOC #InnovativeThinking #ProblemSolving #CorporateWisdom #KeepItSimple #Simplicity #ThinkDifferent #Leadership #LuxuryRealEstate #Imagine #Innovate #Inspire https://lnkd.in/gw25puTR

The other night, my wife and I enjoyed a pre-Christmas ‘date night’ to see our favourite Christmas film, Love Actually*. Although the film is over 20 years old, it was anything but a typical movie night! This was Love Actually in Concert: the classic film enhanced by the live accompaniment of a 55-piece orchestra. It was a fantastic experience! Why am I sharing this? It reminded me that innovation doesn’t always mean coming up with something new. Sometimes, it’s about reimagining what we already have in a new way. Just like the enjoyment of a great film can be enhanced with an orchestra (something you never knew you needed) So can your business practices and processes by re-imagining how they are delivered So, as we approach the new year, let’s think about what we can reimagine in our professional lives. What existing projects or strategies could benefit from a fresh, innovative approach? How can we turn the familiar into something extraordinary? *My favourite Christmas film is obviously…..Die Hard #Innovation #Leadership #CreativeThinking #LoveActually _____________ Hi, I am Matthew Needham. If you donate any amount of money to any organization, I recommend you read this! The way we frame charity and the way we frame running a business should not be so different. At A2S, sustainable change (or change that lasts) is ingrained in our mission statement. With that, we are so lucky to have donors committed to the long-term investment we need to be able to get results that last for our kids. They partner with us every day to do the work, and they help us do it with grace and patience. This is not true everywhere, or, dare I say in most places in the nonprofit industry. I am so grateful to know and have the opportunity to work with Erica Madden, our amazing strategist, on the long-term plan for A2S. She asks the right questions, dares us to be bold, and helps us communicate effectively and transparently with our donors. If you're looking for someone to help level up your business (or even if you aren't...) take a look at Erica's work and give her a call! #sharesmiles #inspirehope #empowerdreams #entrepreneurship #philanthropy #problemsolving #uncharitable #longterminvestment #sustainablechange
I recently watched the Uncharitable Movie (highly recommend), and it sparked a lot of thoughts ... I wrote a few of them down.

Leadership is an inside-out job, and Inside Out 2 is a brilliant lesson in self-leadership. The film—the fastest animated film to hit $1bn sales—reminds us that all emotions are valuable teachers, if we take the time to truly understand them, even those we often avoid like envy and anxiety. For example, anxiety has a purpose—it's there to protect us. Instead of pushing it away, try acknowledging, thanking, and reassuring it that everything will be ok. By embracing all your emotions you develop self-awareness and self-regulation, helping you to lead with compassion and resilience—both for yourself and for others. Have you seen the film? What did you think? #Leadership #EmotionalIntelligence #InsideOut2 #READtoLEAD

"How do you direct my mind?" In 1997, I had the pleasure of playing a small role in dual Oscar-winning director Jane Campion's film Holy Smoke. The role of Director in a feature film brings with it great power and responsibility - they (along with the screenwriter) decide what the audience will learn, see and experience and, just as importantly, WHEN. They not only direct the actors - they direct our minds. "How do you direct my mind?" is the question I asked a leader yesterday. #Storytelling and #Communication are such magical topics, for many reasons- but particularly this one. Every time we speak, we have the opportunity to direct our listener's mind. Storytellers love to direct - but we as the audience LOVE to be directed, if the communication is vivid, clear and illuminating. 🎷 #leadership #pitching #coaching

Play Big, Ignore the Small Shit In The Wolf of Wall Street, there’s a scene where Leo laughs at the Feds on his yacht. While it’s larger-than-life cinema, the mindset resonates with me. When you’re aiming high, you can’t waste energy on distractions or doubters. Success is about keeping your focus on the big picture and staying confident in your next move. Ignore the noise, outplay the small-minded, and keep building. #PlayBig #LeadershipMindset #WolfOfWallStreetEnergy #BusinessSavvy #NextLevel
