Imagine being targeted, harassed and assaulted simply for existing?
Imagine fleeing the only home you’ve known out of concern for your family’s safety, making a perilous journey, learning how to navigate a new, challenging (and often unwelcoming) environment,
… and suddenly facing riots targeted at you and your family.
Imagine spending years making a new country your home, including learning new language and traditions, deepening your roots and raising your children,
… all to be made to feel unwanted, isolated and unsafe simply because of how you look or sound.
Many people in the UK, including refugees, are feeling scared, anxious and unsafe due to the riots happening across the country. Our hearts go out to all those affected by the violence.
At Indigo Volunteers we believe in the power of unity and imagine a better way.
💡 If, after watching the news, you are feeling powerless and want to support those who have been displaced, here’s a few things you can do right now:
1. Volunteer. Give your time to help those who need it most. Indigo can connect you with trusted charities supporting refugees in the UK and Europe and offer safe spaces to individuals and families facing displacement.
2. Volunteer on the Job! If your company offers volunteer days, you can join our Indigo Mentors programme and remotely mentor humanitarian charities in need of your expertise.
3. Challenge Yourself (and Others!) to Make a Positive Change. Sign up for a local walk or race and rally your community to raise funds so we can continue our work helping charities that support refugees. We have a list of opportunities throughout Europe to get you started AND an easy step-by-step guide to make it easy and fun.
4. Enlist Your Company to Double Your Generosity. Check whether your workplace offers match-funding so your donation to charity can be doubled.
5. Mobilise a Company Donation. Nominate a humanitarian charity like Indigo to receive a donation from your company. What may seem like a little amount for your company could make a tremendous impact when given to a charity serving refugees. For instance, at Indigo, we transform every £1 donated into £23 worth of support for refugees.
PM us for more information or check out our website for opportunities for both individuals and businesses to get involved and donate.

Great job! Can we still help with donations?
