iREACH - Designing the Future of Healthcare Research Working in collaboration with Sheppard Robson, our 8,500m² design features two striking buildings, one on each side of Belfast’s Lisburn Road. One connects directly to Belfast City Hospital, while the other is dedicated to research and innovation, housing cutting-edge labs, collaborative spaces and incubators. The two buildings are linked by a bridge, creating a physical and symbolic link between clinical practice and groundbreaking research.   Situated adjacent to Queen’s University’s Medical Biology campus and Belfast City Hospital, the design fosters collaboration among clinicians, researchers and innovators, enabling a seamless exchange of ideas from laboratory to patient care.   Architecturally, sculptural brick podiums topped with lightweight aluminium structures balance solidity with transparency, while textured brickwork and rhythmic aluminium fins create a contemporary, urban presence reflective of its forward-looking mission.   Targeting BREEAM Excellent certification, the facility combines environmental responsibility with cutting-edge functionality.   Funded by the Belfast Region City Deal at Queen's University Belfast and led by Queen's University Belfast, this £39m construction contract has been awarded to @Graham with completion set for late 2026. Once operational, iREACH will house up to 360 staff, driving advancements in clinical trials and healthcare for the region and beyond.
