It’s another goal for downtown Grand Rapids, and Amway helped kick it through the net. We are proud to be named the title sponsor of the new Amway Stadium, a professional outdoor soccer stadium slated to break ground in the heart of our hometown next spring. The 8,500-seat Amway Stadium will anchor the dynamic revitalization of the riverfront on Grand Rapids’ westside. In addition to becoming the future home of professional soccer in West Michigan, the high-performing, multi-purpose sports venue will serve youth, high school, and collegiate clubs communitywide. Driving economic growth and development has always been at the heart of the Amway story. This latest chapter is especially meaningful, as Amway Stadium is expected to draw 17 national and international professional competitions; more than 50 community-based tournaments and events; and 160,000 visitors to downtown Grand Rapids each season. Not to mention create 330 new full-time jobs and generate $408 million in net new economic impact for the city. Our work with them has bookended the year. Our Planet Football partnership to deliver quiz-based video content for social media has delivered more than 25m views, hundreds of thousands of engagements and huge growth across Insta, TikTok and YouTube. 🌍 At UK Sport’s annual conference of sporting leaders, we discussed OnlyFans, sexual advances on social media and athlete safeguarding. But we also talked through the MASSIVE benefits for NGBs if they work with athletes to help them grow their brands and platforms. 📈 We advised a big Premier League club on the emerging landscape right across children and sport - explaining what others are doing and touching on best practice. It’s a relationship we hope will grow. 🤗 Plus we’re in discussions with another major sporting body about how best we can help them drive reach and engagement with their activities around youth audiences. Our initial chat covered everything from their major competition to helping grow grassroots sport. We’re able to do both. We’ve partnered with one of our friends in the production world to bid for an exciting opportunity with a major broadcaster - with a proposal that would deliver a groundbreaking, multi-platform approach. And there are BIG proposals in elsewhere that could shape our entire business. They’re all bang in our area of expertise and capability - but they crucially match our ambition to make a massive impact with children and young adults and help make our country more active. Then there were other intro chats with smaller, charities and start-ups in our space of sport and youth who share the same passions as we do. We’re getting there. It’s tough and we scrap when we need to do. It’s been a bitch of a year, but 2025 looks promising. (It’s the hope that kills you). And yeh, I’ve also started the sequel to my book. I read a marketing book a few years ago where the main point was quoted as: "Different is better than 'better'" "Better" is subjective. What is better for one person could be the wrong fit for another. Is the local take out restaurant "better" than the steakhouse? No. It's different. But, better really depends on what you are looking for that day. Being different and unique is objective. We do this thing differently. It's not up for debate. We do this thing differently. End of story - take it or leave it. As I have worked with Game Time Media MN now for about 3 months, I am realizing that the idea of advertising on a high school sports live stream is a "different" approach that many marketing professionals and industries have not explored. It's new. It's not something they know or have proven track record of success with so it's hard to justify. I will say, the 80% renewal rate on the businesses that have joined our platform tells me that there is immense value in thinking differently.
