It is so rewarding to see our incredible NYU Stern School of Business undergraduate students front and center in the top business school publication for prospective students and parents. The advice our students give applies to any stage in your life or career. I'm always reminded or learn something! Here's a golden nugget from Sanemi: What is the biggest lesson you gained from studying business? The biggest lesson I learned is the importance of taking time to get to know the people around you. Whether it be in a class, an internship, or an extracurricular activity, people are at the core of everything you do in business. Getting to know your peers rewards you with lifelong friends and the ability to work more smoothly in a team. At the same time, I learned the importance of surrounding myself with people who consistently challenge me and make me think.
"The biggest lesson I learned is the importance of taking time to get to know the people around you. Whether it be in a class, an internship, or an extracurricular activity, people are at the core of everything you do in business" - Congratulations to #NYUStern Undergraduate College student Sanemi Nair (BS '24) for being selected to Poets&Quants' Best & Brightest list for the Undergraduate Class of 2024. #NationalInternDay On this National Intern Day, very best wishes for success and transformation to all #interns including my current #GenZ Rutgers University School of Communication and Information students who are interning this summer at agencies, corporations, brands, nonprofits, small businesses, startups and organizations of all types and sizes. In my first book that I authored, 101 Lessons They Never Taught You In College, that was inspired by my Rutgers University students, I shared this advice. "You can never have too much experience. Once you get your first taste of experience - start pursuing work experience that is relevant to the industry you would like to find a fulltime job in. Along the way, expand your professional network any time you can." https://lnkd.in/giRWUzaX

I always loved being invited to speak with the up-and-coming entrepreneurs from my alma mater Morehouse College. Doing my best to leave some nuggets of wisdom I gave them a real run through of Entrepreneurship, creative media and finance. I remember being that age, sitting in those seats so life is full circle. Thank you Lavonya Jones for the invite to speak Morehouse Business Association . A few suggestions I left with the group: • The people in this room are who you will start your first companies with, network across • Get internships, learn the skillset, you have 3 months to prove value and create an impact in that company, think outside the box • Make as many mistakes as you can now, people will give you grace, and you have time to come back • The AUC is your first customers, clients, and audience. If you can’t sell your product in this environment with over 15,000 college students and the internet you may want to rethink your goals •Utilize the facilities along with your teachers to build your businesses, it’s their job to help you succeed, turn a professor into an investor •Nothing you learn in the books can really prepare you for the real world, trial and error is the best teacher
