We are often asked what information we need to either help design a new seal or reverse engineer a solution from an existing application... Simple. We need your STAMP! SPEED - What is the speed that the seal will be required to perform? This speed can be represented either as RPM (Rotations Per Minute), FPM (Feet Per Minute), or MPS (Meters Per Second). TEMPERATURE - What are the minimum and maximum temperatures the seal will be exposed to? APPLICATION - Where is the seal being used? What is its function? This can refer to the equipment in which the seal is being installed as well as what the function is of the seal is. MEDIUM - This refers to the lubricant or material that is to be sealed or excluded. Are there compatibility issues? Common examples of media are grease, oil, hydraulic fluid, water, etc... Thanks Todd Grafenauer for the article. The trend towards larger pressure pipes is certainly continuing. What can also be recognised are PE pressure pipe applications with operating pressures in addition to 16 bar/ 232 psi, for example SDR 7.4 and 25 bar/ 362psi operating pressure. The core components of a screw press are a set of spiral press rollers that rotate to squeeze materials and achieve solid-liquid separation. The material is first fed into the feed inlet of the filter press, and then moved forward along the axis of the screw press under the push of the screw. During the movement, the squeezing effect of the spiral gradually increases, and the moisture in the material is gradually squeezed out, forming a filtrate that is discharged, while the solid is compressed into a filter cake and discharged. The newly installed mechanical seal of the slurry pump is leaking If the mechanical seal of the slurry pump is used for a long time, water leakage will occur. This is caused by wear and tear. But what happens if the newly installed mechanical seal leaks? This is probably caused by two reasons. Let's check whether the pressure of our shaft seal water is too high. If the pressure of the shaft seal water is too high, it will also cause water leakage. Because the pressure is too great, it displaces the gasket in the machine seal. If the gasket no longer seals, it will cause water leakage. Another situation is that when starting the machine, the shaft seal water valve is not opened in time. We should note here that our shaft seal water needs to be opened before starting the pump. Correspondingly, when shutting down the pump, you should first stop the pump and then close the shaft sealing water valve.
