Last week, I was honored to attend the 26th annual Entertainment Law Initiative Grammy Week event, the nation’s preeminent gathering for entertainment attorneys. This year’s event honored Atlantic Records’ Executive Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs and General Counsel Michael Kushner with the 2024 Entertainment Law Initiative Service Award, which each year recognizes an attorney committed to advancing and supporting the music community through service. I also had the privilege of hearing Michelle Jubelirer deliver a brilliant keynote address at the event and reconnect with my BESLA family, a generous sponsor of the Entertainment Law Initiative.   The Recording Academy’s Entertainment Law Initiative was established to encourage discussion and debate around legal affairs in the ever-evolving music industry and how they impact creatives and the greater music community. The initiative offers year-round professional networking and career development and cultivates the next generation through connection and educational opportunities for JD and LLM candidates.   Thank you to Neil Crilly, Kristen Baum, Megan Winsor, and Allison Lapinski for the opportunity to support ELI this year and GrammyU for selecting me to attend ELI and supporting Grammy Week events in my role as a Grammy U Ambassador for the Recording Academy’s Texas Chapter.
