Powerful reminder to set goals aligned with strategy.
💡 The Power of Clarity, Transparency, and Alignment in Leadership 💡 Early in my career, I worked for a leader who questioned my insistence on documenting team goals in a shared system. I explained that clarity, transparency, and alignment aren’t just management buzzwords—they’re the foundation of trust and performance. Her response? "You have a plan. No need to put goals in the system." When I pushed back, she added, "You can trust me. No need for formalities." Reluctantly, I conceded. Fast forward four months, and I found myself being criticized for not delivering on tasks that weren’t part of the original plan. The absence of documented goals led to misalignment, confusion, and missed expectations. Trust alone wasn’t enough—it lacked the backbone of transparency and accountability. As Stephen M.R. Covey, author of The Speed of Trust, says: "Trust is built on behavior, not just intention." Goals in a system aren’t about micromanagement; they’re about creating a shared understanding, preventing miscommunication and misalignment, and enabling people to perform at their best. Failing to define the goals for success almost certainly guarantees failure. The lessons? *Trust is strengthened, not weakened, by documentation. *Transparent goals create alignment and empower accountability. *Leadership thrives on clarity—not assumptions. What’s your take? How do you balance trust and documentation in your team? #Leadership #TrustAndTransparency #GoalSetting #PerformanceManagement

Hey everyone, check out this article by my colleagues! It raises an interesting question: Do CEOs really have only 90 days to prove themselves? In reality, it often takes about two years to truly earn stakeholder confidence. That said, those who focus on building trust early can set their companies up for a consistent increase in value. It’s throwback Thursday, and I want to share one of my all-time favorite articles by Brent Gleeson on Forbes. It explains so well what goes into building a culture of trust and its financial benefits. According to the article, trust in business is built on three core dimensions: 1. Competence: Belief in the ability to deliver on promises and compete. It's about having the skills and resources to meet expectations consistently. 2. Integrity: Ensuring fairness and justice in all dealings. Trust flourishes when organizations act ethically and uphold strong moral principles. 3. Dependability: Commitment to doing what you say you will. Consistent actions and reliability are crucial for fostering trust. By focusing on these dimensions, organizations can build robust, enduring trust that drives success and growth. What are your thoughts or best tips on building trust within your organization? For more insights, explore Brent Gleeson’s article on Forbes - Link is in the comments. #BuildTrust #Leadership #Integrity #Competence #Reliability #BraveLeadershipGroup
