Allison Williams’s short piece, "Writing from Immediacy", begs a good question: Can you, should you, write about trauma while you’re in the middle of it? Or is distance necessary?https://buff.ly/2RwlsM1 #thursdaythoughts #amwriting #writingcommunity #authorlife #blackhillswriter #southdakotawriter #katemeadowswritingandediting

My WIP is at exactly 46,444 words. My (self-imposed) deadline to finish the first draft is October 2nd. Writing two scenes a week (or around 3,000–4,000 words) will get me there. When it comes to penning out your novel, it can be terrifying to commit to it, knowing that finishing that draft is only the beginning. Finish the draft anyway. #mondaymotivation #amwriting #writingcommunity #storycoaching #fictionwriting #queerauthor #queereditor

Save this post and try spicing up your dialogues with these words instead. Also, look out for Part 2 next week! #writerscommunity #nigerianwriterscommunity #writingtipsandtricks

"Creating something new is chancy. It involves risk. It’s like beginning a sentence before you know its ending," write authors David Bayles and Ted Orland (Art & Fear: Observations on the Perils (and Rewards) of Artmaking). Accept that writing is an act of discovery. Then, let yourself discover. #mondaymotivation #amwriting #writingcommunity #authorlife #blackhillswriter #southdakotawriter #katemeadowswritingandediting
