Getting to the stage of actually commercialising a surgical robot is a monumetal achievement. There is a graveyard of companies who have developed amazing technology, that haven't made it, or that have got to market and dropped the ball. Now Distalmotion is there in the US after gaining FDA clearance for the Dexter system. Myself & Greg Roche recorded this session of The Surgibots Podcast prior to the anouncement, but for as long as I have known him, Greg has kept the customer at the heart of the commercial roll out. When it comes to go-to-market, the customer must feel like the most important person in the world. Building out the infrastructure of clinical, training, service, logistics etc is so important to deliver a world class experience, so that when inevitably things do go wrong you are there to support.
