Last weekend, together with Erdy Suryadarma, I had a chance to participate in a DOGE hackathon event hosted by lablab.ai. The challenge was to revolutionize government efficiency using xAI's Grok. We come up with an idea to streamline bureaucratic processes by: - providing citizens an intuitive platform to access government services and track the process, with an AI to assist in each step, - and workflow builder to help the government digitize and automate bureaucratic processes. Day 4 started with the keynote of Dr Werner Vogels. This is the one I’m looking most forward to and as always, this one really delivers. The topic of the keynote was Simplexity. It might sound weird, but making things simple is really complex. He had 6 simplexity lessons for us: 1️⃣ Make evolvability a requirement 2️⃣ Break complexity into pieces 3️⃣ Align organisation to architecture 4️⃣ Organise into cells 5️⃣ Design predictable services 6️⃣ Automate complexity Afterwards he took the time to explain how Aurora DSQ was working. The key here is that the clock synchronisation is what makes this system work! Really nice and trying it out! Afterwards it was time to go to the Expo and grab some swag😎 I should be carrying an additional bag. Afterwards attended sessions for observabillity, performance and some more exiting sessions! It was a great time again at re:Invent! See you back in 2025!

It's performance review season. Are you ready? Sadly, most aren't... Good thing Adell & Ciprian (Chip) built PerfWriter, right? This project used agents to help solve a gnarly problem - building your case for a strong review season. With a roadmap that removes recency bias and can pinpoint that 2am on call fix you made, even if it was only 2 LOC. The duo really went hard to get this live and spent time grilling Saumil - I think I heard 'edges' and 'nodes' uttered at least 42 times. iykyk. At Squire AI hackathons it isn't just about technology. It's about the nitpicks you get to give Saumil along the way 🥰 Remember, by the end, can you guess who won: 1. First overall 2. Most technical 3. Made at least $1 4. Audience fav 2 Demos to go. I think Karl's taking side bets btw and odds are decent. He only takes something called BTC though... 🤔
