Launching our new vision and values Our Chief Executive, Wayne Gales, explains why we have chosen to refresh and relaunch our Vision and Values. "April 2024 marks the start of our corporate plan, renewing and building upon our commitment to put customers at the heart of everything we do and build back fairer in our communities. We review our vision and values yearly, discussing if they remain fit for purpose and relevant to where we are as an organisation. Twelve months ago, we did just that, and this time around we felt the vision and values didn’t quite fit with the Trust anymore. Our discussions lead us to talking about the seismic shifts the world has experienced over the past few years and how the vision and values fitted in the new world we operate in. So much has changed, our operating environment is the most challenging we have ever known, we have had a lot of colleagues join us, and our customers are changing and experiencing more challenges than ever. Taking everything into account, we started to feel perhaps it was time to reevaluate our existing vision and values and develop a new set that authentically reflected the growing purpose behind all that we do every day to support our communities, customers and colleagues. Together with Board, colleagues and involved customers we formulated a proposed new vision and set of values. So it’s time to introduce our new vision: Working together to provide quality homes, places, and services, making a positive impact for people. Our new set of values, we feel are more attainable and relevant to Weaver Vale as we are now. Compassionate Accountable Respectful Exceptional You’ll notice CARE is also there… because that’s at the heart of our culture. Our five corporate strategies outline how we will achieve our vision: • Our Customers • Our Homes and Places • Our People • Our Money • Our Environment Our vision and values are more than talking points, they underpin everything we do, day in, day out and this month see’s the start of our journey to embed them into our daily work and open up colleague conversations and experiences, to embed and engage."
