URGENT HELP NEEDED! ─ YORKSHIRE FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL ─ JULY 🔴 Founded in 2015, the three-day Yorkshire Food and Drink Festival expanded rapidly and now occupies a substantial site at Funkirk Farm, near Settle. 🔴 The Festival, which is held during the third weekend in July attracts over 30,000 visitors, 200 exhibitors and offers a diverse schedule of bands, street food, pop-up restaurants, workshops, food tasting and masterclasses from leading food and drink celebrities. 🔴 The Festival is estimated to generate around £7m for the local economy. 🔴 Unfortunately, the event in 2023 was seriously affected by flooding which led to unforeseen costs making the event loss making. This had a major impact on cash flow in the Company in the latter part of 2023 which continued into 2024 and with ticket revenue being behind where it should be at this time of year the difficult decision has been taken by the directors to cease trading. 🔴 Proposed Joint Liquidator Jonathan Amor, Head of Restructuring for Azets in Yorkshire said: “The Yorkshire Food and Drink Festival is the largest event of its kind in the UK and regarded for the contribution it makes to the local economy. Unfortunately, the business has been suffering from unsustainable financial problems and the directors decided that it would be in the best interests for all creditors for the Company to cease trading and be placed into liquidation. 🔴 Jonathan Amor added: “The Festival has now ceased trading and steps will be taken to market the assets for sale including the brand, intellectual property, digital platform, data and essential infrastructure such as marquees, tents and staging. 🔴 We ask that interested parties contact the Leeds office of Azets as soon as possible.” 🔴 Unless an interested party comes forward to resurrect the Festival unfortunately the event in July will not take place. Customers are encouraged to check with their credit or debit card providers if they can claim a refund by making a chargeback request on their purchase. https://lnkd.in/eFNtwFsT https://lnkd.in/eds5qsj5

Food festivals aren't just about yummy treats. They are celebrations of heritage and innovation. For me, attending Gulfood was an eye-opening experience. On the first day itself, I was amazed by the variety and innovation. From a cappuccino mix snack that surprised my taste buds to healthy broccoli & carrot snacks, The creativity was endless. Keto-friendly treats and unique tubs of chips were crowd favorites, but the pop chips were the show's star. The gulfood festival was a global phenomenon. Over 190 countries come together, each with its culinary jewels on display. And here's why I think food festivals like Gulfood are more than just events: ➡️ It exposed cultural offerings to a vast audience, creating national and international interest and boosting traditional flavors to new heights. ➡️ The festival was a treasure trove of global food trends, with new varieties that resonate with a global audience while staying true to our roots. Food festivals are more than just food; they celebrate culture. By participating, we can share our stories, the traditional methods behind our creation, and the significance these snacks hold in Bikaneri culture. Events like Gulfood bring together foodpreneurs and industry experts from across the globe. We can connect with potential partners, distributors, or even investors who can help us take it to a broader national and international market. Have you seen a local food or dish become more popular at a festival? #foodindustry #events #growth

Last Sunday I had my first foodie festival experience, What I saw, what I ate, the conversations with guest standing in long lines was quite memorable, while food truck festivals are certainly known for their delicious treats, they also serve a larger purpose by bringing communities together and creating a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere. These events have become increasingly popular in recent years, offering a unique culinary experience that showcases a wide range of cuisines, flavors, and creativity. One of the standout features of food truck festivals is the diverse selection of food options available. From gourmet burgers and tacos to artisanal pastries and international delights, these festivals provide a platform for both established chefs and aspiring food entrepreneurs to showcase their culinary skills. The variety of cuisines and flavors on offer allows festival-goers to explore and indulge in a world of gastronomic delights that they may not have access to on a regular basis. In addition to the culinary attractions, food truck festivals are also social gatherings that foster a sense of community. These events bring people together from different backgrounds and walks of life, creating a space for connection, interaction, and shared experiences. They provide an opportunity for neighbors, friends, and families to come together, sample diverse foods, and create lasting memories. In addition to promoting local businesses, food truck festivals often prioritize sustainability and eco-friendly. Many vendors use locally sourced ingredients and employ environmentally conscious practices in their operations, such as compostable packaging and reducing food waste. These festivals often serve as educational opportunities to raise awareness about sustainable choices and encourage attendees to make more environmentally friendly decisions. Overall, food truck festivals have become much more than just a place to grab a delicious meal. They have evolved into cultural events that celebrate community, creativity, and culinary diversity. By bringing people together and supporting local businesses, these festivals contribute to the social fabric of communities and create a memorable experience for all who attend. 🍎

It was the Trade Session for the first day of the 45th Peterborough Beer Festival yesterday afternoon. So why should Linked In members be interested? Simply it provides an interesting snapshot of the state of the local economy and a chance to informally chat to a cross section of the local community plus political movers and shakers. As this was a ticket only invited preview, the first surprise was the length of the queue before the gates were flung open at 3pm. It stretched from the Beer festival site at the back of the riverside embankment site out past the Key Theatre right up to Town Bridge, almost a quarter of a mile.... The show itself all under widespan exhibition tented structures contains the UKs longest ever straight line bar with the beer racked up on the stillage behind. An army of trained beer keepers ( yes Beer not Bee!) look after it. Next is the Music/Event tent and outside the largest beer garden ever ringed by Festival food stall and a small fun fair. Wandering around Beers by breweries are in alphabetical order ( I made it to D yesterday and still have until Saturday to complete the task, mind you there are more than 400 beers to tackle... Local publican and business leaders were out in force, the general consensus post General Election being the new Government has got off to a flying start and facing down some of the negative issues presented so far. The real pain in tax hikes is expected towards the end of the year, then perhaps some of the gloss might have rubbed off? Paul Hook the owner of Oakham Ales has a strong following and his impressive stand dispensing a wide range of his real ales. Nearby Oakhams 'Charters' huge Dutch Barge Pub and impressive extended Beer Garden (designed by Bunny Guinness) complete with the additional new land based ship container bar, Pizzeria, music stage and daylight video wall ( for sporting events etc) It takes a crew of 15 to man the container bar alone. The upper deck can be hired as a private function area overlooking the entire estate. The level of financial investment is a positive financial barometer, life is clearly good! The demand for residential and student accommodation in Peterborough is still rising. Reflected by the opening of the Ruskin University Campus in Peterborough, and a steady stream of new businesses setting up shop, many in IT and programming development. The City like others has it's public sector financial problems. A speculative £15million adventure into hotel development with the developer going bust and the outgoing debt- mountain Tory council left with egg on its face and a half built hulk in a flood zone still optimistically badged Hilton has seen the incoming Labour administration wrestling with having to punt another £15-20Million of public money to get the project back on track! Ironically the first day of the Beer Festival also saw building work resume on the hotel site. The CAMRA Beer Festival is open until the 24th. (X) Twitter @BOROBEERFEST

Top bars are being viewed as brands in their own right and we are here for it. The news that HIMKOK are collaborating with Sony Music Entertainment Norway on their next menu drop Beats & Sips, shows that big consumer brands now view top bars as equals. It’s an interesting evolution that makes a lot of sense. Culturally bars are on the money. Cocktail culture has also developed significantly. While celebrity chefs and world-famous restaurants have been in the public consciousness for decades, bar brands and their captains are closing this gap. Other things that are contributing to bar brand growth: 1. Own brand spirits and beers 2. Bar merch being sold to customers 3. Top bartenders and bar owners showcasing cocktail craft on TV It will be interesting to see how many more partnerships between household brands and top bars we see in the coming years. https://lnkd.in/eqb8i_yE #hospitality #drinksindustry #beveragemarketing

Navigating Canada's Vietnamese Food Festivals: A Culinary Adventure Vietnamese cuisine has woven its vibrant thread through Canada's food scene fabric, offering an exciting palette of flavours to the culinary landscape. Among the most celebrated avenues to experience this cuisine are Vietnamese food festivals scattered across the country. This guide will take you through everything you need to know about navigating these festivals, from what to expect and how to plan your visit to the must-try dishes and tips on making the most of your experience. Introduction to Vietnamese Cuisine Vietnamese cuisine is celebrated for its fresh ingredients, minimal use of oil, and reliance on herbs and vegetables. With the philosophy of balancing flavours, Vietnamese cooking seeks to achieve harmony between sweet, sour, salty, and spicy. This balance is evident in the dishes served at Vietnamese food festivals in Canada, where traditional recipes and modern adaptations are showcased. Popular Vietnamese Food Festivals in Canada 1. Tet Festival - Toronto and Vancouver: Celebrated around late January or early February, this festival marks the Vietnamese New Year. It is an excellent opportunity to try traditional Vietnamese foods not commonly found in restaurants. 2. Mid-Autumn Festival - Across Major Cities: Held in the middle of the fall season, this festival is famous for its mooncakes but also features a variety of Vietnamese street foods and traditional games. 3. Vietnamese Boat Racing Festival - Calgary: While the main attraction is the boat races, the festival is also a feast of Vietnamese culinary delights, offering everything from pho to banh mi. Planning Your Visit Research the Event: Each festival has its unique offerings and schedule. Checking the festival's website or social media pages can provide you with a schedule of events, ticket prices (if any), and other logistical details. Timing Your Visit: Arrive early to avoid the large crowds expected in the afternoons and evenings. This will also allow you to try the best dishes before they sell out. Weather Considerations: Many of these festivals are held outdoors. Check the weather forecast and dress appropriately. Comfortable walking shoes and sun protection are must-haves for a long day outdoors. Cash and Connectivity: While more vendors are moving towards electronic payment methods, cash is still king at many food stalls. Ensure you have cash on hand to avoid any inconvenience. Also, prepare for potentially spotty cell service due to large crowds. https://lnkd.in/ens_vNb2

I have not had a drink in two years. In that time, I have attended dozens of receptions and other events where alcohol was served. While it has gotten better, hosts still need much better options for those who are not drinking. Please offer more than sodas and water. Not everyone wants to have caffeine or sugar late at night. Water all night gets boring. Show some creativity and offer some great tasting mocktails or have some pre packaged non alcoholic beverages like ginger beer or NA Heineken. Teach your bartenders how to quickly make drinks non alcoholic. Bartenders should also be taught not to sigh heavily and roll their eyes when asked to make a non alcoholic drink. My go to has been a “No Tequila Sunrise” or “Virgin Bay Breeze”. I really notice those hotels, bars, restaurants, and hosts that go out of their way to cater to this growing population. It is about being hospitable to everyone and making your event as accessible to everyone as possible. So please consider non drinkers when planning menus for events and meetings.
