Read my take on St. Patrick's Day below!
Did you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this year? For the first time since I moved to LA nearly 10 years, I did. Well, nearly. I attended The Irish Film Festival LA at the Monica Film Center on Saturday 3/16 which got me in the spirit. Since I stopped drinking over 11 years ago, and even before that, I stopped celebrating the big fella’s day. It has become a gaudy nightmare of leprechaun costumes and green beer which has spread around the world. But this year I looked deeper into his history and discovered that he wasn’t even Irish. He was captured from England by Irish pirates and enslaved for 6 years. While in captivity he worked as a shepherd and became close to God, and most importantly, he learned the Irish language until he escaped. When he returned years later, knowing the people and language enabled him to peacefully convert Ireland from paganism to Christianity. Though I’m 5,000 miles away, meeting Irish folks at the film festival reminded me of one of the most powerful connections to our native homes... Language. And this month my story went the other way… An interview I did with San Francisco’s Irish Herald was republished by insideireland.ie. Read the full story in the link below to discover what else ties me to my other, faraway home. #irishamerican #losangeles #latimes #originstory #storytellingforbusiness #galway #journalism #insideireland #saintpatrick

Today marks the 23rd anniversary of September 11th. On this day and every day, we honor victims, survivors and heroes. We are also reminded of our resilience, determination and how proud we are to call ourselves New Yorkers. Our city has emerged stronger and more unified than ever before and we will never forget what brought us here. #NeverForget _________________________ Via Instagram: @wtc_memories

Every judge & district attorney need to listen long & hard.
Detective Jonathan Diller and his wife, Stephanie, were soulmates — a cop and nurse bonded by their dedication to helping those in need and their love of life and one another. Jonathan was truly one of New York’s Finest admired by so many as seen by the sea of blue that lined the street outside the church. Surrounded by thousands of brave men and women in attendance, Stephanie showed that courage was just one more thing she had in common with her husband.

On being the D.E.I. (Diligence, Excellence & Imagination) hire with a spin and I am sold. John Leguizamo did an amazing job at explaining representation at this years Emmy's presentation and what it means to us, what it has evolved into and how we can further grow the representation within our fields. I have seen his "Latin History For Morons" show live and it was great too. He is a great example of resilience throughout his career and how to shift from what an industry thinks you "should" be or look like or sound like or what you "should" do into what your true calling and passion is. His insight, inspires me. Por ahora quiero ser el mejor ejemplo para las Latinas en cada industria que represento. https://lnkd.in/gvFqpGcF
