Nothing says summer in the US like hot dogs and ice cream. That’s why July is both National Hot Dog Month and National Ice Cream Month. “Steve, hot dogs and ice cream are for children.” Are they though? I did some exhaustive research on this topic (meaning, I googled it) and found that most Americans, including adults, eat between 60 and 70 hot dogs a year. And while ice cream cones might remind you of childhood, those over 55 eat more ice cream cones a year than children do. Life is short. Treat your staff to lunch one day this month and see for yourself. Just don’t forget the gluten-free hot dog buns, tofu dogs, and dairy-free ice cream alternatives. We all know pets can teach us a lot about life, but did you know they can also offer valuable insights into recruitment? 🤔 Here’s a little something I’ve learned from my furry friend that applies to finding the right fit in the workplace. Patience is Key: Just like my pet, who takes their time to warm up to new people or situations, recruiting requires patience. The best candidates aren’t always immediately obvious. Sometimes, it takes time to truly understand their strengths, personalities, and how they’ll contribute to the team. Adaptability Matters: Whether it’s adjusting to a new routine or learning new tricks, pets thrive on adaptability. The same goes for job candidates—those who can be flexible and open to new ideas tend to succeed in dynamic, ever-evolving workplaces. Celebrate the Little Wins: Finally, just as my pet gets a treat for every small victory (whether it’s learning a new trick or just being adorable), it’s important to recognize and celebrate the small wins in recruitment too—like finding that perfect candidate who aligns with a company’s culture and needs. Every win, big or small, is worth celebrating! Whether it’s your pet or your career, we can all learn valuable lessons about patience, trust, and adaptability. 🐶🐾 #RecruitmentTips #Hiring #PetWisdom #WorkplaceCulture #TaylorRose

Step 1 Wake up Step 2 Wipe Dog drool from face after being woken up by aforementioned canine in this Step Step 3 Get my Dunkies Medium Ice Cold Brew (70% less acidic... no more tummy grumbles) - America searches for jobs on Dunkies (Dunkin' I expect to be paid for that :) ) Step 4 Click LinkedIn Jobs tab and search for new jobs over the last 24 hours...because you do it daily no need to look further...but you do it just in case, because the last 24 hour jobs don't even match the criteria you put in Step 5 Similar to Step 4 but with Indeed, ZipRecruiter, TheLadders....other Step 6 Yell to your spouse who is still working and is remote what your phone tells you the weather will be today (53% chance of Thunderstorms), just so she/he/they know you're not just wasting time today....and of course, you saved them time from looking at their phone for the same Step 7 Wow it's lunch time, how did that happen? Leftover ribs you smoked yesterday because why not, I have the time to cook something that takes 3-6 hours (cries a little) Step 8 Go back to Step 4 to see if anything new posted Step 9 Order Chinese Food because General Gau's, Hot and Sour Soup and House special Chow Foon cures everything Step 10 Look at how much you can make for promoting a company with a tattoo on your forehead....Decides against it because, well I think that's obvious Step 11 Fall asleep on the sofa watching Hoosiers for the 800th time and get ready to wake up motivated...Thank you Gene Hackman

Ever wondered if the internet has a sense of humor? Well, according to one wild review, we at elvah apparently interviewed...a gardener. Yep, for our fully remote office in London — a city where we don’t even have any employees. Now, I’m all for cultivating new ideas, but this one really takes the (garden) cake. Imagine the questions: “How do you handle workplace weeds?” “What's your experience with cross-departmental watering?” But let’s get serious for a second (or as serious as I get). Are we really trusting reviews like this? Are people genuinely buying into the idea that we’re booking interviews for imaginary positions? Or is our brand making waves that some just can’t handle? Glassdoor, could you maybe help weed out these little fictions? Let’s keep the laughs coming, folks, but leave the gardening to the actual gardens.

Meet Sanja Jordan, our 🔥 recruiter with a sharp eye for potential and the heart to find just the right match. Sanja isn’t just scanning resumes for “required skills”, she’s looking for people who are excited to make an impact, grow with the team, and are ready to try different things along the way We’re impressed by candidates who bring fresh perspectives, share hands-on examples, and come ready to show how they’d bring their ideas to life within our team. 🐾 The Importance of Loving Animals and a job Selection Process 🐾 Finding the perfect candidate for a job goes beyond technical skills. The connection with animals can reveal a lot about an individual and their values. A few weeks ago I entered a selection process for internal promotion in my company. The first contact after having developed a coordination and team management exercise, from HR they contacted me asking me 3 questions and one of them was "do you like animals?" I was thinking about it trying to understand the question, believing that there was a methodology to filter candidates, reaching a few conclusions: 1️⃣ Empathy: Those who love animals tend to be more empathetic, which translates into a greater ability to understand the needs of others, work in teams, and resolve conflicts positively. 2️⃣ Responsibility: Taking care of a pet requires commitment and responsibility. Employers value this quality, as it demonstrates the ability to fulfill assigned tasks and maintain long-term commitment. 3️⃣ Sensitivity: Those who enjoy the company of animals are often more sensitive and aware of their surroundings, which can translate into greater attention to detail and an ability to perceive subtle cues in the workplace environment. In summary, a passion for animals not only indicates love for them but also valuable human qualities that can enrich any team. Do you share this connection? Tell me about your experience! P.S. I leave you a picture of my paw work team. #Animals #JobSelection #HumanValues #Empathy #Responsibility

Can anyone know us better than ourselves ⁉️ *How do we #test ourselves, so that we keep getting better every moment?*_ *#Self #evaluation* *A boy of about 18 years went to a drug store and asked the shopkeeper for permission to make a phone call. The shopkeeper allowed him to make the call. Then he dialed a number and started talking.* Boy - Hello ma'am, can you give me the job of cutting your lawn? *Woman (on the other end of the call) -Sorry, but I already have someone to do this job.* Boy -ma'am please see my work once, you will like it very much. *Woman - but I don't need him!* Boy -m'am, I will do this job at half the salary you pay to the person working right now. *Woman - no, I am satisfied with the work of the person who is taking care of my lawn right now.* Boy - ma'am, please give me the job. I'll even sweep your sidewalks. You'll have the most beautiful lawn in Palm Beach. *Woman - no, thank you !* With a #smile on his face, the boy hung up the receiver. The drugstore owner, who had been listening to all this, came up to the boy and said, "Son, I really like your attitude and positive spirit and it seems you are in desperate need of a job. If you want, I can hire you here". *The boy replied, "No sir, thank you.* The store owner asked, confused, "But you were just begging for a job on call". *The boy replied (smiling), "No sir, I don't really need a job. I was #evaluating my #performance in my current job. In fact, I work for the same woman I was talking to." Saying this, the boy walked away smiling and the shopkeeper kept looking at him in surprise! 🍎 📌No one can know us better than we know ourselves. 📌If we keep an eye on ourselves every moment, then our shortcomings cannot be hidden from us. 📌And no one can stop us from becoming a better person than we are every moment.*
