As the founder of EcoKadai® I'm passionate about sustainability and finding innovative solutions to reduce waste. Our manufacturer-initiated repurpose initiative involves transforming our air crack disposable takeaway rice bran food containers into eco-friendly grow pots. These containers, originally designed for food packaging, possess unique properties such as biodegradability and home compostability. Recognizing the potential to extend their lifecycle, we repurpose them into microgreen grow pots, aligning with our commitment to circular economy principles. Additionally, we embrace customer-initiated repurpose, empowering individuals to participate in sustainability efforts. Customers can repurpose disposable takeaway rice bran food containers into microgreen grow pots at home, fostering a sense of ownership and environmental responsibility. This collaborative approach not only minimizes waste but also promotes urban agriculture and healthy living practices. By upcycling Zumex Group’s orange peels into valuable ingredients, PeelPioneers - a #FoodTech500 company is not only diverting waste from landfills, but integrating this practice into their existing business model.
