I can recommend this article: https://lnkd.in/dybBAtvG Very interesting read about Iron Mountain Media and Archive Service’s experience with archived hard disks (HDD) from the 1990s and the challenge to keep data alive over time. Significant amount of data is lost - only after 30 to 35 years, - even when stored in the best conditions by the most professional player in the industry. What data would then be left and readable after 100 years? However, there is a solution to this significant challenge: a data storage solution that is: · Robust and durable, - tested and qualified for 1000 years of longevity · Self-descriptive and self-contained, i.e. all pertinent instructions, file format descriptions and source code are included · Migration free, - write once and read forever · Non-electronic · Non-magnetic · Non-hackable and inherently immutable, - data cannot be deleted or overwritten · Immune to electromagnetic and radioactive radiation · Immune to cyberattacks and digital threats · Offline and off-grid · That can be made accessible online within a short timeframe. Further: · No servers are required · No electricity is needed · The most environmentally friendly storage option, characterized by the lowest cumulative carbon footprint over time. This storage solution already exists, - it is the piqlFilm. www.piql.com
The Media and Archive Services team has noticed a trend in hard drives manufactured in the '90s: close to 20% fail to spin up. Our own Bob Koszela, Director of Global Studios Growth and Technology, sat down with Mix Magazine’s Steve Harvey to emphasize the need for the music industry to take action before it's too late. It's incredible how much noise levels can increase by placing a sound source onto a surface❕ My favourite way to show this is our music box (without a box) demo 🎶 which shows how the noise from the music box is significantly amplified when placed on the table, and highlights the need to use appropriate vibration isolation - in this case a vibration isolation pad was used! Take a look (and listen 🔊) below 👇

### Stetsasonic: Live Instrumentation in Hip-Hop Stetsasonic, an influential hip-hop band founded in 1981 in Brooklyn, New York, transformed the genre by being among the first to integrate live instrumentation with their performances. This innovative approach, merging hip-hop with R&B, jazz, and other genres, set the stage for future bands like The Roots to explore similar terrains. Their debut album, "On Fire," and its successor, "In Full Gear," received critical acclaim for their groundbreaking sound which combined beat-boxing, sampling, and the dynamism of a live band. Stetsasonic's legacy endures, with their genre-blending approach continuing to inspire artists and music aficionados. As they maintain active in the music scene, one must ponder: How does live instrumentation redefine the dynamics of hip-hop performances today?
