🌟 Celebrating the Closing Event of the CEU Internship Program in Prague! 🌟 Last week we celebrated the successful conclusion of the CEU Internship Program in Prague! 🎉 This program has been an incredible growth, learning, and collaboration journey for both our interns and the CEU Management. The CEU Internship Program has provided our organization with a unique opportunity to engage with the minds of Gen Z. The interns have challenged our management to think outside the box, bringing fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a renewed energy to our workplace. For the interns, this program has been a transformative experience. They have had the chance to bridge the gap between theory and practice, putting their knowledge and skills into action. The opportunity to see their work come to life has been both rewarding and empowering. Through social learning, teamwork, and cooperation in the office, interns have developed essential soft skills vital for success in today's workplace. Moreover, the program has significantly increased the interns' confidence by taking on real responsibilities and delivering tangible results. A big thanks for your presentations: Farwa Babar, Ashwin Upadhyay, Sumit Dubey, Tanaka Musesengwe and Aneta Močková, also Petra Sochacka for leading the program. As we bid farewell to this year's CEU Internship Program in Prague, let's celebrate the achievements, friendships, and memories created. I do not doubt that the skills, experiences, and connections gained during this program will serve as a solid foundation for the interns' future endeavors. #CEUInternshipProgram #ClosingEvent #GenZ #DHLExpress

What are you getting if you hire someone with a Bachelor of Arts in European Studies? Since our programme is interdisciplinary and mixes business and politics, there are a lot of options, so it might be better to ask what our graduates CAN’T do, but to narrow it down, we like to share examples. So this week, while we’re on a short holiday at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, we’re sharing stories about students who are doing their mandatory internship, which is a great way to get a sense of what our graduates do and what they have to offer. Today, we hear from Charis Janzen, who recently finished her internship at GoBright, an office innovation company. “I successfully completed my Marketing Internship and I ended it in such a special way: organising the company's Yearly Team Event! I am grateful that I was entrusted with this responsibility amongst many others. I would not necessarily describe my internship as just an internship, but rather an in-depth experience of today's working culture. I was surrounded by the best colleagues and received great guidance. This internship taught me so much about the smart workplace solutions market and the different stakeholders that are involved. It taught me the importance of truly knowing the company you're working for as well as the brand, because that informs the way you communicate. I believe I was wel prepared by European Studies THUAS for this internship and I am also grateful for the knowledge I was given beforehand. Now, I look forward to finishing the last phase of my studies: my thesis.” We wish you luck on that thesis Charis and look forward to seeing you graduate later this year. If you want to know more about what our graduates have to offer, or if you think your organisation would benefit from some European studies interns, check the links in our bio or get in touch at any time.

Big Cheers to Harvey Gould & Why Interns Aren’t Just for Tea Runs! ☕💻💥 When Harvey joined us from Imperial College this summer, we didn’t just get an intern; we got a powerhouse! 🙌 Forget the coffee runs and endless tea duties (although, fair play, we do love a brew). Harvey jumped in with real, game-changing responsibilities, and he smashed it. 🔥 In just seven weeks, Harvey designed the VoyagerVRLab.co.uk site from the ground up, created brand guidelines, nailed quality assurance, and even took on some serious C++ development for a volumetric capture tool! 💻🌐 His competitor research and creative insights brought fresh ideas we’d never have seen coming. And when we launched the Voyager project in September, he was there representing us to clients and guests, looking like a seasoned pro. 👏 For any business working with interns, here’s a tip: don’t just hand your interns the kettle. 🫖 Tap into their skills, hand them the projects that matter, and watch them bring massive value. DMU and the University of Leicester are packed with talented students just waiting to make their mark; our time with Harvey proved how much impact they can have. 💡🚀 Harvey, you’ve set a seriously high bar, and we can’t wait to bring on the next wave of talented students! 🎉 #InternSuccess #LeicesterTalent #CreativeInternships #FutureOfWork #VoyagerVR #UniversityTalent #BeyondTheKettle #FreshIdeas #MakingAnImpact #InternshipLife #Innovation #YoungTalent #SkillsForSuccess #TechFuture #InternWithImpact Thoughts?

🇮🇪 In case you missed it, EdOdyssey President & Founder Peter M. McGovern was a panelist at the Employability Plenary during June’s International Internship Conference in Dublin. 🎓 Facilitated by Dr. Maureen Manning from The PIE, the theme was “Cultivating Global Professionals: Exploring Key Factors in Post-Graduation Employability.” 💬 We’d love to hear your thoughts on these three standout points that were made during the panel: 🔺 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝟭: Early exposure to travel is important. It teaches students to identify cultural differences, appreciate languages, and—through true immersion in diverse cultures—start to build the confidence and maturity necessary to navigate our interconnected world. 🔺 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝟮: First-year experiences will continue to play an important role in fostering professional and cultural competence by supporting students in their learning, academic exploration, community-building, and transition from secondary to higher education. 🔺 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝟯: In a globalized world of shared cultures and languages, there exists every reason to start a conversation. Travel, global perspectives, and cross-cultural dialogues are no longer a good idea, but critical. 🗣️ Let us know if these points resonate, and if you attended the conference. 🌍 Stay tuned for a blog post, coming soon, where we elaborate on some of the key takeaways and share more of Peter’s experience in Ireland—one of our newest custom program destinations!

London City Airport (LCY) has enrolled on the University of East London’s Diversity of Thought Employer Partnership Programme, strengthening the ties between the two institutions. As part of the programme, LCY has offered paid internships to several UEL students, giving them the chance to work across and learn about different parts of the business, including sustainability, community engagement and I.T. They were selected at a LCY-hosted hackathon event, after taking up the challenge of developing concepts for a project to deliver zero-emission flights at the airport. The winning participants were shortlisted, and following interviews, several were offered internships. The University’s Director of Careers and Student Enterprise, Cherise Basslian said, “We’re thrilled to have London City Airport on board as our newest partner in creating more opportunities and better access to aspirational careers for our students. Providing students with experience of working in a professional environment is invaluable for both their confidence and employability.” The programme is a vehicle for driving social mobility and will see LCY and UEL work together to address the key stages of the recruitment cycle where those from marginalised backgrounds are less represented. It aims to build social and cultural capital amongst UEL students and graduates, with the new interns benefitting from one-to-one mentoring, exposure to the professional environment and work-based learning at LCY. Michael S., Chief People Officer at London City Airport, said: “East London has for many years faced challenges with social mobility, so we’re proud to be working with UEL in taking direct steps to address this issue. It was impressive to see the variety of skills displayed at the hackathon event, and we look forward to welcoming the selected students to the airport to start their internships.” The move comes after LCY and UEL announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in September last year to enhance jobs, research and skills in the local area. The MoU focusses on developing Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) resources for local schools to enable them to improve student learning and aid research projects. 1st Rotterdam International internship market by the collaborating MBO institutions a great success! Today, for the first time, an international internship market was held for MBO students who want to orient themselves on an international internship or experience abroad. More than 600 students from Albeda, the Grafisch Lyceum and Zadkine went into talks with international institutions to investigate a possible internship or just to orient themselves on the possibilities. Students could also talk to experts by experience (students who have already completed an international internship to receive tips and suggestions with gratitude. In addition to the market, there were also workshops on student finance and internships abroad by DUO, the Erasmus Plus program by Martin Huizinga, working or doing an internship in Sweden and/or Norway by EURRES and Nuffic and JOB jointly organized the Internationalization Game. Intermediaries from various countries were also present to provide students with information about the possibilities. The nice thing about this internship market, which was organized for the first time in Rotterdam in the context of The Week of The International Student(WOTIS, was that it offered opportunities for all professional fields in which the MBO offers training. The general impression of this event was very positive and the feedback received from both students and participating organizations was exceptionally good and therefore left us wanting more. "We're just going to do this again next year," according to the representatives of the organizing MBO Institutions The setting for this Event was the Fletcher Hotel Restaurant Wings Rotterdam with a view of Rotterdam The Hague Airport the ideal starting point for an international experience.
