The habit of blocking out time for highly focused work is one I saw in the people I wrote about in REST, and which #4dayweek companies often apply at scale. Lots of very creative and prolific people will have a couple hours in the morning (often two 2-hour bocks with a break in between) where they get up early minimize distractions, and do some of their best work. Likewise, one of the things I teach #4dayworkweek companies to do is design schedules that let everyone do this. Making it a collective practice means that each person enables and supports everyone else’s focused time.

Immersion Time At Better Energy, we’re committed to creating dedicated space for deep work and uninterrupted focus. That’s why we’ve introduced Immersion Time every Friday from 9:00–11:00 across several departments including our People department. The goal? To give everyone a chance to concentrate, enter a productive “flow,” and tackle key tasks with minimal interruptions. Here’s how it works: ✅ Do: Focus on your tasks, prepare for meetings, complete e-learning, or dive into an in-depth article. ❌ Don’t: Talk out loud, take phone calls in shared spaces, or schedule meetings during this time. We understand that urgent matters may arise and flexibility is key. But with respect for these guidelines, we’ve received fantastic feedback from our teams during previous trials. I’m very excited to share that yesterday marked the start of my new position as a Notion Creator Intern for STAYJUSTINTIME.COM! In this internship, I will be designing Notion templates and workspaces for StayJustInTime.com to be distributed to business professionals. StayJustInTime.com is an excellent company that offers newsletters to professionals seeking to understand the current business world, and they also distribute advanced Notion templates. This is the sector that I am going to be focusing on! Notion is a free software that provides professionals and students with the creative space to manage their organizational, educational, and professional needs. I have personally been using this software since I began college for organizing my life and note-taking. One of the biggest advantages of Notion is that users can purchase templates from third parties. These templates are often curated for specific niches and goals, and can be quite useful for Notion users. These curated Notion templates have been essential in my use of the software, and I am excited to help others this summer by designing my own!
