Revolut Launches Major Migration to Romanian Branch Revolut is moving 4M+ Romanian customers from its Lithuanian entity to a local branch, introducing Romanian IBANs in a massive operational shift. Why this matters: • Part of Revolut's aggressive European expansion • Follows similar moves in Ireland, France, Spain, Netherlands, Germany & Italy. Key details: → Gradual migration process throughout 2024 → Old IBANs remain active until December 31, 2024 → EUR 100k deposit protection continues under Lithuanian scheme → Local IBAN will better serve both retail & business customers "Given the size of our portfolio, this complex operational process will take place gradually. While we are confident that our users understand our efforts to simplify their transition to the new service, we also recognize that challenges may arise," said Gabriela Simion, General Manager of Revolut Bank UAB Romania. Customers will receive in-app and email notifications to keep them informed throughout the migration process.
