✨Season's greetings from all of us to all of you!✨ In 2024, our eight member states have continued their work towards a green, prosperous and well-connected Baltic Sea Region. In addition to implementing the Strategy, we have used 2024 to update our Action Plan: ✨50 Policy Area Coordinators have consulted stakeholders all around the region to increase synergies and reduce overlaps. ✨15 Steering Groups have held meetings regularly to discuss relevant measures and ways forward. Altogether, there are 190 Steering Group members from over 100 organisations. ✨Nationally and on the EU level, our coordinators build and maintain strong relations with funding entities and projects to increase the positive impact of funds used. ✨Transnational cooperation has become more visible outside the circle of immediate stakeholders. For example, you have visited our website over 30,000 times, and our posts here on LinkedIn have appeared on your feed 58,000 times. We are ready to face 2025 together!

👀 Now on LinkedIn | 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗨 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆: 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 Jean Bossuyt and Amandine Sabourin, Ph.D. explore the limited role of local authorities so far in the EU’s Global Gateway strategy: providing recommendations for enhancing their role in this major EU investment plan. The paper seeks to inform and stimulate a reflection among cities, internally within the European Commission – in DG INTPA in particular – as well as with interested external partners on the involvement of local authorities in the Global Gateway strategy. Why do local authorities matter for development? ⛳️ Spatial realities: all investments ‘land’ in territories - their effectiveness and impact largely depend on the environment at a local level 🤝 LAs have a ‘mandate’ to promote local economic development and investments 🇪🇺 In order to align to the core principles underlying the Global Gateway such as democratic values, good governance, transparency and equal partnerships, it is critical that elected LAs are involved. “From Position to Practice” Special Edition Poster for the European Blue Forum Annual Meeting on May 30th, 2024 in Svendborg, Denmark! For the past year, My Ukiyo and White Canvas Athens have been the Marketing and Strategic Communications partners of AETS Consultants (based in Brussels) for the European Blue Forum, an initiative of the European Commission Maritime Spatial Planning! The European Blue Forum is intended to be a pan-European Stakeholder group, able to come together to discuss shared challenges and priorities over the medium term with the aim of finding consensus, synergies and solutions towards a common vision. However more than this, it should be a ‘safe’ moderated space for all users of the sea, to identify innovative solutions to deliver bold and ambitious change, bringing real benefits to people and communities throughout Europe. The European Blue Forum is intended to be fully representative of the European Sustainable Blue Economy. It will give opportunities to often underrepresented stakeholder groups, as well as new and emerging sectors, to express the challenges they face and explore possible solutions and synergies alongside more established sectors. #europeancommission #europeanunion #marketing #marketingstrategy #communications #blueeconomy #strategy #marketingstrategy #digitalmarketing #digitalstrategy
