The European House-Ambrosetti’s Post

"At the Verso Sud Forum, discussions emphasized Southern Italy's role as a #Mediterranean hub linking #Africa and #Europe. As Libya's Ministry of Local Governance, we highlighted our shift toward decentralization, granting municipalities #administrative and financial #independence—an approach that has bolstered social, economic, and political #stability. Additionally, discussions addressed the responsibility of Northern Mediterranean countries in fostering economic development in the South to combat illegal migration, extremism, and terrorism. By harnessing the region’s abundant #resources and interconnected value chains, we can create integrated industries and robust trade networks that drive #growth across the Mediterranean.”   Badreddine El-Toumi (Minister of the Local Government, #Libya) shares his insight at the #VersoSud, 16-17 maggio 2024.   https://lnkd.in/ddQwZh4f   The #VersoSud project is carried out by #TEHA and supported by the Ministry for European Affairs, the South, Cohesion Policies, and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), as well as by Gruppo Adler, Coldiretti, Edison, Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane S.p.A., Intesa Sanpaolo, Mediocredito Centrale - Invitalia, and MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company.
