Hello everyone, As we near March, there's a pressing issue we need to address together. Our beloved Level UP program by Riipen, which has been instrumental in providing students like us with invaluable hands-on work experience alongside our studies, is at risk of disappearing if we don't take action soon. Regardless of whether you personally participated in the program, I'm sure you recognize its significance. Did you know that a staggering 71% of Level UP students utilized their experience to secure job offers? That's not just a statistic; it's a testament to the program's effectiveness in bridging the gap between education and employment. Now, more than ever, we need to unite our voices and advocate for the continuation of programs like Level UP. These initiatives are essential in combatting underemployment and ensuring that students like us have the opportunity to thrive in our chosen fields. That's why I'm urging you to join me and the 1,000 students who have already taken action by sending letters to our MPs. Together, we can make a difference and secure renewed, stable funding for programs like Level UP. Let's make our voices heard and keep the flame of opportunity burning bright for generations of students to come. Together, we can make underemployment a thing of the past. 👉 Are you in? The send a message on the link below and let's work together to ensure a brighter future for all students! #SaveLevelUP #HandsOnExperience #OpportunityForAll #riipen Thank you, Kavya https://lnkd.in/g8C-AdX3

Here's an article that I wrote for the East Anglia Bylines a few weeks ago. Recruitment and retention is always a hot topic but in a profession where you can really change lives, we need to make sure we keep investing in our staff all the way from NQ's to CEO's and letting them know how appreciated they are. https://lnkd.in/es8jmgK4

‘The challenges of teacher recruitment and retention in England’ The release of this blog from Ofsted today is very timely after the conversations I’ve been having this week around the challenge of staff retention and the impact of diminishing budgets and overwhelming workloads on staff and leaders. Almost a year ago the Annual Report of His Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills 2022/23 stated, “In schools, staff shortages are reducing expert teaching, increasing stress, limiting intervention when children struggle, and creating a barrier to teachers accessing training and development.” However, one year on and, with leaders wearing many hats, covering numerous roles and regularly overworking causing stress and burnout, the climate seems no different. An effective retention strategy not only enables a school to hold onto and maximise the potential of the talent they have, but due to word of mouth it also enhances recruitment opportunities. The best type of retention strategy is based on what staff truly need and the culture they work within. We all know that our staff and leaders make us what we are as a school, so if you’re thinking about how to support leaders and their teams, get in touch by DM to see how we could work together to enable them to thrive in these challenging times.
