At the recent Labour Party Conference Octopus Energy and Thakeham signed a partnership agreement to deliver all future developments as "Zero Bills" developments. Thakeham first piloted a ’Zero Bills’ scheme at its 120-home Templegate development in Burgess Hill this year. Following the success of the pilot site, this new deal will see Thakeham submit plans for a 1,350 ‘Zero Bills’ home development in West Sussex. ‘Zero Bills’ is an energy tariff from Octopus Energy that allows customers to move into homes which are fully kitted out with state-of-the-art clean tech – including a heat pump, a battery and solar panels – with no energy bills guaranteed for at least 5 or 10 years. https://lnkd.in/exiwP74k #action #urgency #learnfromdoing #solutionsatscale #zerobills #efficiency #technology #development #togetherwecan #unlocknetzero

Great to see progress at Conrad Energy's grid stability site in Walpole, Norfolk. Walpole is a significant site in terms of the UK's energy transmission and therefore attracts a lot of development. Great for our energy security and reliability. More difficult for local residents and businesses. Collaboration with other developers in the area is key. Our communications and engagement approach includes demonstrating how the projects are working together to reduce impact and disruption, such as aligned traffic management plans and shared enquiry and complaints management. We have established a joint stakeholder liaison group that meet regularly to provide updates on the projects activity and address any questions or concerns, hold public information days for the local community and carry out combined communication. We're excited to see it the project progress and deliver essential stability to the energy transmission network. #Communications #CommunityEngagement #Engage #StakeholderEngagement

E.ON and Australian real estate developer Lendlease have signed an agreement to build a pioneering low-carbon energy network for more than 6,000 new homes 🏠 and business properties 🏢 at Silvertown in east London. The 760,000 m² Silvertown site will be the UK’s first development of E.ON's pioneering ectogrid™ system, an energy sharing heat network based on heat pump technology that, once complete, will save approximately 4,000 tonnes of CO2 a year – 88 percent lower emissions than from traditional gas boilers. The core principle of ectogrid™ is to provide heating and cooling by first using existing energy sources available locally, such as air, water or ground. Each connected building sends excess heating or cooling to other buildings as needed, and by sharing, balancing, and storing energy in rotation, ectogrid™ uses all available energy before adding any ‘new’ energy, drastically reducing consumption, costs and environmental impact 🌍.
