The wedding season is here, and everyone is attending ceremonies like the baraat, tilak, engagement, or sangeet. Earlier, people would visit relatives a couple of days before the event. Gradually, this time decreased, and now people often attend on the same day. These days, it’s all about when the food starts. People tend to attend functions just to eat, especially when they have multiple weddings to attend in one day. They often prioritize events with more food variety. However, such variety also attracts more crowds, making it awkward to navigate through the hustle at food counters. No worries! Here are some ninja techniques to enjoy the food peacefully: 1. Choose the Right Time: Avoid the rush by eating either slightly before or after the main meal time. For example, head to the food counters while others are busy dancing. 2. Pick a Smart Spot: Instead of hovering around food stalls, sit a little away and ask a familiar person to assist you with getting the food. 3. Go for Calm Choices: Start with less crowded counters instead of heading directly to the busiest ones. Grab dessert or snacks first. 4. Coordinate with Friends or Relatives: Go in a group and take turns preparing plates for each other. This minimizes your time standing in line. 5. Plan Ahead: Check out the menu and decide what you want to eat. Avoid unnecessary rounds at the counters. 6. Seek Staff Assistance: If the crowd is too overwhelming, ask the event organizers or catering staff to bring food to your table. By following these tips, you can enjoy your meal and avoid the hassle of pushing through the crowd. If you found these tips helpful, share them with your foodie friends. #WeddingSeason #IndianWeddings #ShaadiVibes #FoodLover #DesiFood #CelebrationMode #BigFatIndianWedding #ShaadiSaga

All this terrible winter weather has got me reminiscing of summer holidays gone by... Last year we went to Turkey. We spent the days by the pool or on a lovely beach and the evenings eating local dishes and drinking cocktails - all some of my favourite activites! But it soon became apparent that I am pretty rubbish at making decisions about what I want to eat or drink... you can't really blame me. With in excess of 20 cocktails at most bars ranging from Cosmos to Pina Coladas, Negronis to Mojitos, it always took me ages to decide, much to my family's amusement. You see the problem was that whichever one I chose, I knew the chances were it wouldn't taste like the true flavour (my son Jamie is a mixologist who uses proper measures - hence why I am a bit of a cocktail snob). But then we went to a Yacht Club one evening, overlooking the harbour. Not a Cosmo or Pina Colada in sight. The Yacht club had just a handful of cocktails. All very exquisite - each with its own distinctive name, flavour and style. And all twice the price of the 20+ cocktails in most bars. But you know what, I had no trouble matching the right cocktail to my taste. The 'Hugo Me' burst with flavours of gin, prosecco, elderflower and mint. Beautiful. On top of which, as I expected, they used authentic spirits, in their correct measures. The Yacht club had ensured they could not be compared to all the other bars with their 200TL watered down drinks. By creating their own special recipes, they put themselves out of the range of comparison. They had taken what is now a commoditised product and elevated it. And it meant they could charge a premium too. Clever. It is worth thinking about our products and services and working out how we too can 'de-commoditise' them, how we can elevate ourselves and in turn charge a premium price. Cheers 🍹 #businesscoach #businessowner #pricingtips #salestips

Entertaining during a holiday weekend should be a fun occasion with loved ones. Here are a few of my favorite tips for success: 1. Planning is key: Prepare a guest list, menu, and decorations. This will lay the groundwork for a smooth and enjoyable event. 2. Consider dietary restrictions: Consider guest preferences, such as vegan or gluten-free, to ensure everyone feels included. 3. Set the mood: Create a warm, inviting atmosphere with festive design, music, and lighting. This will instantly make your guests feel at home. 4. Offer a variety of activities: Keep guests entertained with games, crafts, karaoke, or even a movie marathon. 5. Don't forget drinks: Provide a selection of beverages to cater to all tastes. 6. Prepare in advance: Minimize stress by preparing the menu and enlisting help. Focus on the experience. Be in the moment. Think about meaningful connections and making memories with guests. #entertaining #hostingtips #memorablemoments #holidayweekend #entertainingideas #hostinginspiration #eats #lafoodie #foodie

3 Things to never do when planning your wedding catering *Don't let anyone tell you what you should, or shouldn't eat at your wedding. This is about you & your fiancé celebrating your love & commitment to each other. It doesn't matter if your cousins best friend down the road says you should have fish. If you don't like fish, then you don't have to have it at your wedding. *Be realistic about how often your guests expect to be fed. If you're having an all day celebration, you'll need to consider having more than just the wedding breakfast. Equally, if it's only a short event, you won't be able to fit in canapes, wedding breakfast, and evening snacks. *You don't have to have a wedding cake if you don't want to. If you don't like cake, or would prefer a cheese tower, then that's perfectly ok. Just because it's tradition, doesn't mean you have to include it. Also, a cheese tower makes a great evening snack! I have seen 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗙𝗔𝗝𝗜'𝘀 in big fat Indian weddings, stuffing their plates full of food and still being unsatisfied. I think I may have figured out the reason behind it. When your plate is full, you aim to eat everything on it. (𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀, 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁?😉) Accordingly; - your 𝗙𝗢𝗖𝗨𝗦 is divided and - the time to process the taste of the 𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗚𝗨𝗟𝗟𝗔 (𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘁𝗲) is now taken over by the expectation of the taste that might come from the 𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗜 (𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗮𝘁). - this goes on and on until you are full. Now, this creates a perception: "𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗵 𝘀𝗮𝗯 𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗮𝘆𝗮, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗸𝗵𝗮𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗶 𝗺𝗮𝘇𝘇𝗮 𝗻𝗮𝗵𝗶 𝗮𝗮𝘆𝗮" - (𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗙𝗔𝗝𝗜'𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲) This perception leads to a state where you feel that you did everything, but 𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 is nowhere to be found. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁? Exactly, that's what happens when you do things just for the sake of doing them. We fill our plates (𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱: 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲) with so many things (𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱: 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀) at a time that the very taste (𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱: 𝗳𝘂𝗻) is just lost in 𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗜𝗥. So, the next time you are at a wedding try advising 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗙𝗔𝗝𝗜 to take only the things he loves to eat and not just for the sake of eating. (𝗵𝗮𝗮𝗻, 𝗷𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗸𝗶 𝘃𝗼𝗵 𝗺𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗶 𝗷𝗮𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲) And, maybe it's about time we should incorporate it into our life too! Do you have any 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗙𝗔𝗝𝗜 experience to share? Drop it in the comments, I would love to read them out.👇🏻 PS: The post involves 𝘄𝗲𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱, the photo used is of 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱. (𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻 𝗸𝗶 𝗮𝗹𝗴𝗼 𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝗷𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗵 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗺 𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗸𝗶𝘆𝗮 𝗵𝗮𝗶.) 😂
