Inspecting structures of the past to maintain for the future. Fast and efficient. – Welcome to 4Scans! 🌟 In order to protect and maintain historical buildings, you need to know exactly what you are dealing with. Inspecting and analyzing the generated 3D model and in turn developing a plan to maintain the structure. 🔍 Manually, this process takes many hours of work and might involve inaccurate measurements. 💡 With our technology and expertise for 3D as-built documentations and inspections, we can work faster, more accurately and thus, more efficiently! ⭐️ One of our most recent projects in Turkey involved one of the best-preserved marketplace of antiquity: the Agora of Lyrbe near Side. After a big fire in 2021, the site is endangered to collapse, making the urgency to maintain the ruins evident. In cooperation with the local authorities and researchers, we decided on the following solutions: 🌐 A photogrammmetrical scan with a UAV and a system camera, a 3D model of the site generated with a geodetic measuring network that scaled the model to accuracy of a few millimeters, as well as a drone flight through the resulting 3D model. During the 3D modelling process, we also generated orthophotos for local building research at a scale of 1:50 and with an accuracy of +/- 1mm. These solutions will provide local authorities and and the Lyrbe archeological project with the necessary data to ensure further conservation measures. Dear Network, Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT) plays and active role in the Enfield Horizon project that aims to facilitate scientific exchanges and networking in Artificial Intelligence. The first open call offers mobility grants from 3 to 6 months and is open to PhD students, postdocs and faculty. The deadline has been extended until mid-April. For this call Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT) is positioned as a host institution on the Adaptive AI pillar and I am overseeing applications on the A-AI.1 Approaches to Incremental Learning Robustness and Trustworthiness research area. Behind this formulation, are covered a wide array of methodological approaches, including for example neurosymbolic and knowledge-based XAI approaches, cautious and conformal classification approaches, adaptive multimodal representation learning, etc. We would welcome incoming mobilities on those topics at Ecole des Mines d'Alès and EuroMov Digital Health in Motion, particularly on application on healthcare and industry/manufacturing 5.0.
