Software Engineering Manager L6 @ BR-DGE an innovation enabler for the payments ecosystem

Today marks my first week at BR-DGE, and I’m feeling incredibly optimistic for the future! I came in excited, and all the experiences I’ve had in the past few days reinforced my pride in joining BR-DGE, and I can’t wait to contribute to our journey together! As I dive into this new role, I'm reminded of the importance of the first 90 days in leadership. I’ve always leaned on The First 90 Days by Michael Watkins (https://t.ly/ZjR0S) as my go-to guide for internal transitions. It’s a fantastic resource I recommend to anyone stepping into a leadership role. Here are a few key practices I’m focusing on during these crucial early days: 🔍 Listen, Learn, and Ask Questions - Understanding the culture and goals of the company and my teams is my top priority.  - I’m asking a lot of questions and taking copious notes to level up faster in our domain and product. 🧑 Build Key Relationships - Building connections with my team is crucial in these first few months to foster rapport and mutual respect. - I’m trying to meet all the relevant people at the company, including peers and others I won’t interact with as often, rather than just my boss and direct reports. 🎯 Set Clear Priorities - Identifying quick wins alongside long-term goals is essential for me. - Creating and validating plans with relevant stakeholders is crucial to contributing effectively to the company as soon as possible. In some insightful conversations I’ve had in the past, I stumbled upon a fantastic template shared by someone I spoke with. Check out Make the First 90 Days Count (https://t.ly/Dji4X), by Deb Liu; it’s a great starting point for a high-level plan you can update as you learn more about your company and role. I’m genuinely excited about what lies ahead and look forward to learning and growing with everyone at BR-DGE! What strategies helped you make your first 90 days count in a new role? I’d love to hear about your experiences, tips, or even challenges you faced. #FirstWeek #Leadership #First90Days #NewRole #CareerGrowth #Br-dge
