Christmas is a special time for family, especially our beloved grandparents here in South Central Pennsylvania. This year, let's make their holiday unforgettable at home. 🎄 Here's how you can create a heartfelt celebration: 1️⃣ Personal Touch: Decorate with family-made crafts and photos. It’s amazing how personal touches add warmth. 2️⃣ A Stroll Down Memory Lane: Gather old home videos or photos and spend time reminiscing. It’s like a trip back in time for everyone. 3️⃣ Favorite Foods: Cook a meal using grandma or grandpa's favorite recipes. The power of food lies in its ability to bring people together. 4️⃣ Virtual Family Gathering: For those who can't be there in person, organize a video call. It bridges the distance and keeps everyone connected. 5️⃣ Simple Joys: Remember, sometimes the best gifts are just your presence and laughter. Make sure to share both in abundance. A little effort goes a long way in creating joy and cherished memories for our grandparents. How are you planning to celebrate with your family? 💬

It is that time of year again for me. As some of you may or may not know I transform and change my appearance to bring magic and joy to as many people as possible. The transformation requires me to grow a majestic beard, change its color, and become Santa Claus. Some say it's good, some bad, and others are indifferent about the beard in the workplace. Becoming Santa though has changed how I approach many scenarios, being a seller made me a better Santa, and being Santa made me a better seller. 1. Took improv classes and learned how to tell stories. If you think a boardroom with C-Levels is tough try being in a room with 30 children all asking you rapid-fire questions, talk about thinking on your feet. 2. Listening to understand. I hear thousands of lists every year from children and I have to be able to respond accordingly. I have found myself listing with more intention since becoming Santa Claus. 3. Organization and Team Work. Because Santa season is short (54 days) and we still put 100% into our regular jobs my wife and I have to be extremely organized. She manages my calendar and the overall running of the business, I handle our CRM and invoicing. 4. Joy. Being Santa has made a lot less of a crotchety old man and more like Santa Claus himself. Do I still get upset? Absolutely, I just handle those scenarios with a lot more patience and humility. 5. Connect with people. I will interact with as many if not more people than most people during the 54-day Santa season than most will in an entire year. I love connecting with people and making them feel like they are the center of the world even if it is just for a few minutes. #CorporateBeards #ProfessionalBeards #SantaClaus #HolidaySpirit #GoldenRule

Everyone remembered the Nilla Wafers and taco nights. Had the honor of attending a celebration of life for a 99- and 103-year-old couple who passed within a year of one another. As I didn’t know the couple well, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the service or to be as deeply moved as I was by the stories that were shared. I was struck by how much of my time I spend thinking about things that won’t make much of a difference in the impact I make during my short time here. As I think about the legacy I leave, I will look to Marg and Lloyd for the example they set. My takeaways: • What their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren remembered most was their love, the way they lived their lives, and how they treated others. • Memories were mostly about quality time spent with family (often over tacos and Nilla wafers). Traditions matter. • What they said mattered much less than what they did. How does this relate to my approach to work and life? • The relationships I build along the way are worth far more than the title or the paycheck. • The traditions we create don’t have to be Instaworthy, they just have to be real. • The moments matter. Between coworkers, friends and families. Take the time, make the connections. Everyone wins.

🎅 The Story of Santa Claus: A Blend of History, Marketing, and Magic 🎄 Santa Claus is more than just a symbol of holiday cheer — he’s a fascinating blend of tradition and modern creativity. Did you know? The roots of Santa trace back to Saint Nicholas, a 4th-century bishop renowned for his kindness and generosity. Over time, folklore transformed him into a magical figure who embodies giving and joy. But it was Coca-Cola in the 1930s that gave Santa his now-iconic look. Illustrator Haddon Sundblom created the jolly, red-suited figure that has become synonymous with Christmas. Why it matters: Santa is a reminder of how powerful storytelling and branding can be. His evolution from a historical figure to a global cultural icon shows the impact of creativity, consistency, and connection. What we can learn: 1️⃣ Generosity builds trust – Whether in life or business, giving without expecting in return creates lasting relationships. 2️⃣ Consistency shapes identity – Santa’s consistent image for decades shows the power of a clear, enduring message. 3️⃣ The magic of joy – Small acts of kindness, much like Santa’s gifts, can bring light to others. As we wrap up the year, let’s channel a little Santa spirit in our lives and work: spread joy, inspire others, and create a legacy worth celebrating. 🎁✨ What’s your favorite Santa story or holiday tradition? 11 things I’ve learned in 54 years Celebrating my 54th birthday over the weekend, I took some time to reflect. We’re all evolving and growing, making mistakes and learning some lessons along the way. Here are a few insights I picked up during my 54 laps around the sun: 1. At times, the best way to move ahead is to let go. 2. Being grounded and present is the most luxurious and exotic place on earth. 3. Confidence comes from doing hard things and learning how to bounce back from setbacks, not from hollow praise or participation trophies. 4. A freeing way to walk through the world: give generously, don’t keep score. 5. Fast > perfect. 6. Self-reliant people who take agency and responsibility for their outcomes are far happier and more successful than those who blame others and play the victim. 7. Legends do the work. 8. A core responsibility is to regularly put ourselves out of business with an upgraded version. 9. Kindness is a force multiplier. Anger, fear, and greed are pollutants. 10. Laughter is miracle-grow for the soul. 11. The purpose of life is a life with a purpose. Mine is to elevate others, love unconditionally, and help unlock human creativity to improve humanity. Hope these insights spur some exploration for you. I’d love to hear what you’ve learned during your laps around the sun. Please share any wisdom bombs you have in the comments below...
